Recall gone wrong

My parents have a funky 18 plate fiesta which went in for a steering column replacement as a recall. Long story short they can't get the car roadworthy after 5 attempts.

They've got a New puma as a courtesy car and ford won't be looking at fixing the fiesta til the new year.

Where do they stand getting a replacement / new car?

In their situation I'd be enjoying the Puma until the Fiesta is fixed. However long that takes.

I'd try and pump them for a free service for the aggro as well.

I said that. It's not as good, apparently.

Got to wonder how long is acceptable as been going on a while now.

I had a similar issue with Ford that rumbled on for months due to faulty injectors on my Mondeo ST Tdci. I spoke to the SMMT who wrote to the dealer.

My car was fixed immediately. That would be my course of action for your parents.

Thanks. They seem to be dragging their feet so need a kick up the arse.
