I think I've just about racked up 18,000 steps in the last two months.

Ha, I put on 1 1/2 stone when I did a 6 month stint in the office, averaging under 800 steps a day compared to my usual 10 - 12,000 when on the production floor.

Knock and Ring and Yell for people who get "letter sized" parcels that don't fit through their ***king letterbox. The person who had a set of wheel studs delivered in a "small" but effing dense soft pouch gets a Mailman's curse upon them.

I appear to have given my fitbit an anuerysm today. Alledgedly 28,000 steps. Walking from 8:30-4:30 pretty much continuously pushing one of the those big four wheeled trolley things "High Capacity Trolley" HCT (why does everywhere have to have ridiculous acronyms??!). I'm not sure whether I coped okay or I'll seize up shortly.

I was amazed that people get "adult product" parcels in violent metalic purple boxes with the (fairly self explanatory) company logo proudly displayed, rather than an anonymous brown box. I will judge them, this job gotta have some perks.

Upsides - today was bloody beautiful once the fog lifted and the USAF took the day off from exercises so it was mostly peaceful.

I also clocked 25,000 steps without feeling like some part of me was in significant distress by the end.

Downsides - encountered my first bonafide douchenozzle. On part of my round the person at #60 asked me politely to please take a large parcel that had been miss delivered earlier that morning another ten houses down to #80. It being a sunny day and I of sunny disposition I obliged and for my trouble got an earful from ungrateful fvcknugget at #80 about how mailmen should know their numbers if they wanted to keep a job and how he would write to the chief executive on the state of the postal service. I reminded him that the honesty of his neighbour had saved everyone some time and bother and his reply was "Well if I had got it by mistake I would've opened it to see if there was anything good to keep"

I bid him a good day.



The outdoors work must do you some good though, I've never met a friendlier or more positive bunch than at RM.

I did miss a trick didn't I.
But having never had a job that was tipped; I was surprised, slightly embarrassed and rather touched by the biscuits, chocolates and cash.
It ended up being the equivalent of about ten hours pay.
Yesterday I undid probably a fair bit of the ten kilos weight loss I've achieved in the last six weeks.

Couple of interviews for a "proper"* job in the new year.

My parents had a ride on lawn mower so i nicked it to cut their neighbours and local pubs gardens. Got about 90 a week, cash aged 15. That was when petrol was 30p a litre.

Being a postie sounds alright. Get an online job and do both.
