Nurburging 24hours

My favourite race on the calendar, possibly a bit subdued this year, limited spectators, fewer entries (but still nearly 100).

However as always the weather promises to be random sun/rain/snow/hail possibly all within the same lap!

Radiolemans hub, for N24 they usually have the excellent livestream + commentary.

Race start is 15:30 German time so 14:30 UK.

Official site

Start list, although a bunch of LeMans drivers have been quarantined so have had to pull out already.

Topflight SP-9 class (LeMansish GTE/GT3) will be big contingents of Merc,Audi and Porsche.
There's also a Ferrari, a Lamboghini and a BMW.

In the slower and guest classes there's some interesting cars to keep an eye on, particularly the Glickenhaus SCG004.
Sadly Fox-tail Manta won't be racing this year.

Pitlane camera is already on, looks soggy!

Watching these guys racing through the night in the pouring rain is bloody mind-bending.

Mercedes were very quick early but Audi are now 1,2,3.

Red flags have come out, spectacular to watch them race but can understand that it's just too dangerous.

They may well not restart until morning sadly.

Race restarted with 16 cars on the lead lap.

BMW M6 GT3 takes the N24 win for the first time in a decade.

18s gap to the 2nd place R8.

Not quite the Grandstand finish we wanted but still amazing race and racing.

It's that time of the year again 8-)

My favourite race, top flight GT3s weaving between an eclectic mix of race and invitational categories.

This year the Foxtail Manta is back. Sadly no Glickenhaus though. But the Ferrari 296 GT3s look ace.

Commentary hopefully here.

Race start in about 36 hours.

I see the inevitable has happened to the Dacia overnight. Borderline stupidity having a car that slow IMO.

Borderline stupidity to lose the soul of your event to pander to racing "purists".

If anything the event has become unhealthily corporate from the two hundred strong fields of a decade ago.

Or just buy an old BMW 320 for not much more and actually enjoy it a bit more by racing other cars in your category rather than lapping over a minute off the pace behind the next slowest car. The Dacia was a YouTube meme with Misha and did well that year, not sure what they’re out to prove again.

N24 has always had a place for oddballs be they Dacia's, Mantas, A8s, or Flywheel 911s
