I know it’s still in camo design so it’s hard to judge, but the grill seems to match the estate body better than the coupe or saloon

Let's face it though, the grill still ruins what would otherwise likely be quite a smart design.

And doesn't the 3/4 have that stupid rev counter that moves anticlockwise too?

Pretty much every current BMW has that stupid backwards rev counter now, sadly :(

It reconfigures to 2 vertical rev counters in Sport mode, because you know how important it is when it comes to perfecting gear changes on an automatic

When was the last time that moved anti-clockwise?

This week ! I moved it onto the driveway last week so I could put the Galaxie in the garage while I waited for a cover to arrive, the cover arrived on Monday, the Galaxie moved back onto the drive and the Aston returned to its garage hibernation.

But I know that's not what you meant  When did it last move anti-clockwise on the road... I don't really remember, the MOT ran out at the end of July and I've still not got around to fixing the rear light so that it can get a new one

This makes me sound like a terrible person doesn't it ??

I saw a G82 M4 on the motorway this morning. I'm sure I've seen a few before but today's had the same awful exhaust as the one on the first page of this thread - like the Lexus IS-F's but with the pipes moved to near the centre of the bumper. I assume that is the M-Performance exhaust option.

My god, it looked terrible. From a distance because the pipes are black and the diffuser is black it looked like it had some sort of issue with the diffuser but closer up it just looked stupid.

Saw lots at the weekend in all sorts or specs. Every time I see them I just can’t help thinking “what the hell were they thinking”

I've seen quite a few, the grille isn't even my biggest issue with them, I find the shape just really bloated looking. M3 is nicer then the M4 to my eyes, but still a bit meh.

I like the M4, I don't like the M3.

It was the M-Performance exhausts which particularly caught my eye, not the M4 itself.

Its a really weird design. Other than buying it to just show you have more money than sense, I'm not sure who would spec it. I saw one at the weekend too, in the bright yellow colour and it looked even worse than I remember. The grille doesn't bother me at all now, I think its the combination of having it broken up with the number plate and also the fact that there's some bizarre looking grilles on nearly every car these days.

Although someone said the M3 looks like a beaver and I can't unsee that now.

I do prefer the M3 - it wears the shape much better - but then I am going to say that if I manage to get a touring. Won't hear a bad word said about it! Unless I don't get one...
