Just the standard 315bhp 3.4 S
Felt over-engined to me.
265bhp Manual 2.7 afterwards felt sweeter, but I've spent years driving a slow car.

I think it really depends on the road with these cars. A fidgety twisty road and they are perfect, but longer and more open spaces and you're left wanting a bit.

Yes I found that aorund donington, a smaller, shorter track and it would hold its own with much more powerful cars.

Agreed - it's interesting that the Porsche centre at Silverstone's handling circuits are much more like country back roads than open racetracks.

Very heavy steering and clutch, not sure I could get on with it

The steering feels a bit heavy at low speeds in comparison to most modern cars but I agree that it should feel easy once you're moving.

As per my other post I got the gearbox oil changed this week. It's made a massive difference. Money well spent as probably never been done in 14 years.

Planning on doing this meself, although it *should* have been done around 60k miles....

I've got a short shifter on it and when cold it wasnt very easy to change gear. It also snags a little in to second but is now less noticeable.
I would recommend doing it if youve similar issues
