Flightradar24 fans
There’s been a lot of increased millitary aircraft activity over the last few months but FR24 filters these aircraft out. I’ve found this site doesn’t, I was watching the police helicopter buzzing around last night and an apache flying around Suffolk as well as the stuff from Brize Norton where only one of the three planes they had up was on FR24

Re: Flightradar24 fans
One just flew over my house and was showing as that in the map.
Hopefully I can see where the Chinooks go from Odiham just down the road.

Excellent, we get a lot of miltary from Mildenhall, Lakenheath and Marham around here and flying at varying heights. I remember a spectacular set of close manueouvers between Typhoons turning in on each other practising dogfighting.
Re: Flightradar24 fans
Well that's a bit disappointing, just had something C130ish and an F15 fly over and it's not showing either. Tracking North from Mildenhall towards the coast.

Just been watching this one on the map. Clearly doing a bit of aerobatics.

Re: Flightradar24 fans
Guessing from the size of the "C130" it was a quarter to a third the height that commercial jets go over at. silhouette was clearly a straightish winged cargo. The Eagle was probably a kilometer or so up, about a thumbnail at arm's length. How's that for some quality imagineering guestimates?

What am I doing wrong, I can't see anything when I go on there?

Re: Flightradar24 fans
It's certainly not very intuitive, especially on a mobile.
You have to tap on the map, which seems to centre you in Germany, but you can scroll it to where you like and the planes should update in real time. You can then tap on a plane to see what it is, its flight path etc.

This is cool. There's a couple of chinooks doing squiggly things round the Isle of Wight... maybe they're making sure everyone is using the new app!

Doing it on a pc, nowt shows up I'll keep playing and see what happens. There seem to be a lot of trails in the sky this evening; some of them may be cloud but they are/were too sharply defined for them all to be. They're all the more noticeable after weeks of their absence.
Re: Flightradar24 fans
Red Arrows taking off from RAF Scampton at 9:37, will be interesting if they show up.

I don’t know if jets show up, but then I also think the RA’s occasionally show on flight radar...

Probably doing the usual flypast over the Mall at 11, surely it doesn’t take them that long to get there though.
How about not having a sig at all?
