Might finally be time to upgrade my 6s
Same external size ( near enough )
Oled screen
Current iPhone 11 A13 chip
More ram
Bigger battery
7mp camera
4K video
Still has fingerprint reader
Sensible price, £569 for the biggest 256gb version plus 0% finance for 24 months if you want it ( on everything at Apple at the moment as far as I can see )

The screen isn’t OLED, is it? It’s not on the 11 and wasn’t ok the 8, which the SE basically is with new innards.
It does have a 12Mpixel camera though; the front-facing one is 7Mpixel.
Looking at the US pricing it would be worth buying over there if you can. $399 starting price is about £100 off the UK price

No, only the Pros have OLED screens, but the current LCD iPhone screens are pretty darn good - there was a blind test when the XR came out and the majority of nerds couldn’t tell the difference between it and then OLED one.
The new phone is a bargain by all accounts and will be supported for years.

It just shows how overpriced the current models are, just a shame they won’t release it in plus size as Apple know that almost no one will then buy their Pro phones.

There’s a rumour there will be a plus-sized SE2 coming, maybe announced next week.
I don’t think they’ll have any trouble shifting enough of the latest iPhones, if only because of the better cameras.

I took their 0% offer on my XR. I think it was 18 months the offer i got so it should be paid off at some point this year. I dont expect ill change it yet though as the XR is a brilliant phone.

Yeah, I was wrong, I had just googled a comparison with my old 6s. same screen as the iPhone 8 I think.
Still tempted although really my 6s is still fine

I’d have an SE except that the XS screen has spoiled me. I’d prefer to go back to Touch ID instead of Face; there’s far more pressing the side button (to use Apple Pay, to install apps) than when it had the button.

Yeah, Face ID for authorisation was a step back. My new MacBook Pro has the finger print scanner and it’s just so much more slick.

I'm pretty sure there's a phone with a fingerprint reader hidden in the display. Shame apple haven't managed to copy / refine that yet. Just for the looks really as my eyes still work fine and the 6/7/8 screen is plenty big enough.

When watching a video on the XS it leaves black bars either side which make it pretty much exactly the same size as a 6/7/8 video. And no silly notch.

They bought out the old se not long after I got my 6s and I was annoyed as I would have preferred it

I have an SE for work and it's an awful thing. Like a child's toy.

Why do you need 256gb of storage ?
I haven't got that much on my laptop.

About a billion photos, a few videos, lots of apps and music at a decent bitrate.
My laptop doesn't have as much either, my main desktop pc has considerably more...

Had to get 512 as I was already over 256 then my Mac mini had a meltdown and I can no longer sync my music onto my phone any more so I’ve been using Spotify exclusively for the last 18 months.

Work phone here too. I don't have a personal one - I don't get enough work calls for it to be annoying.
Have the August date bookmarked in my calendar when I become eligible for an upgrade. Which I think it to an iPhone 8, according to current policy. Go me!

Podcasts, photos, apps are getting bigger - I found 128GB was touch and go as to whether I could download stuff. Yes, I don't delete things, but why bother if I don't have to?

Exactly. I often refer back to images from ten years ago, plus I want my music library on the same device as my phone.
