Cheap diesel purchase

Just got home with it. Managed to do nearly 100 miles on, according to where the gauge started, less than 1/8th of a tank but overall economy cruising at 80ish is pretty much bang on 40mpg. That'll do me. It's a nice place to be.
Old and new together (Volvo gets picked up next week):
Despite the fairly slim sidewalls, the ride over the local crap tarmac I know so well is better than the Volvo. That's a bit unexpected. Volvo also looks very much on stilts now too; I'd got used to it and in fact appreciated its ability to just drive over kerbs etc

Normal rear bench so it can fold 60/40.
2 ready meals (Sainsbury’s chicken madras) though they were in the boot and made it apparent that it’s cavernous

I’m not a massive fan of the mk2 CLS coupe but always loved the shooting brake. I loved the mk1 CLS too.
It’s a lot more luxurious inside than the F11 5-series which was the main alternative. And it’s a bit different. Yet it still fits my practicality criteria. Should have considered one sooner really.

Mr Ambassador, with these pictures but no info on the engine, you’re really spoiling us...
I’m sure it’s probably in another thread. 220, 250??

Sorry, badge delete! 350.
Dinny, as a Merc fan surely you know the pre-facelift didn’t get the 220 anyway.

£13995 - I didn't have much scope to haggle when it was the nicest out there, cheapest on Auto Trader which wasn't silly mileage and I needed it now; I got it from a reputable trade seller (not Approved Used though). The tyres are virtually new so any running costs are reasonably deferred too. I had a private seller trying to get me to buy his for £12k but it had 10k more miles, was most of a year older and had less spec.
