There is a lot of energy spent on asking questions by supposedly intelligent people but no answers - you know what I am saying?

Why is the country in chaos?

From 2008 low interest rates.
Covid raping of the countries purse
Brexit
Shortage of everything including energy, goods etc

Probs more, not one thing.

There is a lot of energy spent on asking questions by supposedly intelligent people but no answers - you know what I am saying?
The answers should come from those who we elect to run things - like you, I just try to run my business within the ever-shifting parameters they set. Whether directly in the form of taxes, or indirectly in the economic environment they create.
Are you sure? They aren't paid enough which is why they are inept.
Yes, I’m sure.
If they aren’t paid enough (and you’re ignoring expenses and funding for a second home) then they make up for it in lucrative contracts and roles after stepping down.

Vastly unfair on MPs in constituencies further from Westminster.

What's unfair? The talent in our country only get involved like you say if there's an after benefit.

By definition, an MP has to represent a geographical constituency. They need a base there. If that is outside commuting distance of London (so not in the Home Counties, basically) they need to have some sort of place to stay near Westminster as well as their home.

By fixing remuneration without any expenses, you've basically made it much more expensive to be an MP outside the Home Counties compared to inside them.

Zoom seemed to work well without them filling the subsidised bar. They actually were faces in their local area too.

Swollen balls after having a jab? Well that's a kick in the nuts.

Isn’t it technically no.5? You had 2 placebos in the trials didn’t you?

Flew to Copenhagen Friday, back yesterday. PCR test in Gatwick (£59), to meet the UK entry requirement, bought day two test (£48) and filled in the passenger locator form. Not very complicated, but expensive to do and...

1) nobody checked a thing leaving the UK. Ticked some boxes in a web form, but without any verification
2) showed my vaccination status in the NHS app at the passport control in Copenhagen. Police officer squints at my phone and says "I trust you"
3) coming back into the UK nobody checked a thing. Went from gate to carpark in 9 minutes and all I did was scan my passport

Doesn't feel very well controlled.
