Like the deadbeat dads who shack up with their new girlfriend and knock them up too?
that seems oddly specific..
I think he's referring to Boris.
Maybe the old adage of if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all should have applied here.

Anyway I hope Boris recovers and recovers quickly.

Funny that the Russian news sites were correct yet are often decried as propaganda.

I do hope I am wrong in who they're referring to, but that's the impression I get.

Not the sort of situation you want to be dropped into at all, your boss who is very popular might pass away and you have to take on a crisis the likes of which we’ve not seen in our life times. That’s not a position I envy at all, he did carry himself well for the briefing earlier though and I guess he knew it was coming then.

We have an interesting and, at times, worryingly accurate representation of British attitude and character on this forum don’t we.

He doesn’t seem to know how many kids he has.

Obviously I’m not hoping he dies, I just thought OC’s comment was stupid.

Ah, I’ve had a bad day today and I’m probably being a bit unfair.

Just seen that the antibody tests the U.K. bought from China were fake, I think the same happened to Spain a few weeks ago which is why the government said they would have to test them but looks like they got caught out by it too. Surprised there’s not more being said about it though.
Also is the U.K. not counting recoveries properly as we seem to have the worst recovery stats for cases and deaths are in the world :?

They said they weren't paying for them until they had been evaluated. I guess they had to order them as soon as they became available in the hope they worked otherwise there would have been even longer delays getting some.

I’ve bought enough cheap crap from China that when it fails on arrival I’ve sent it back or when it doesn’t work after a few months I then just buy something else, but this is something seriously important and the government there is responsible for the mess the world is in, I find myself agreeing with those who say we need to reassess our relationship with China after this. Globally we should do something to stop the reliance on the stuff produced by fakery, the flouting of patents, the slave labour wages paid And poor quality that makes goods from China so cheap.

Suddenly going to your second home doesn’t seem too bad- step forward New Zealand’s health minister who took his family to the beach, and went mountain biking in the mountains during lockdown

Which one, the fact we need a virus which targets muppets or the one about Boris?

The original one 🙂

Saw that #clapforboris is trending on twitter this morning. I’m sure that happened completely organically.

Fair enough. I was getting a bit fed up of it taking nice people and I haven't heard any notorious criminals die from it, just the news about them releasing prisoners early so they don't spread it around

Making space in prisons so they don’t turn into big virus incubators seems like a good idea to me, no?

Weinstein tested positive for Covid but there’s no further news about it. Once you become enough of a bastard criminal you’re essentially a cockroach and can only be killed by very old age.

Very much this. It's imperative to make Brexit work I'd say.

We'll end up closer to China after Brexit I reckon.

How would brexit make us less reliant on Chinese imports?

It’s 60 years of corporate greed that’s got us here not the EU.
