Yup.
Died suddenly today apparently.
He was only 56...

I saw him DJ once at Junction 21 in Leicester.
The warm up DJ had smashed it and then AW came on and played a totally self-indulgent set of mainly rock-a-billy - totally emptied the club.
I must admit, I thought he was a knob.
But you can't take anything away from his earlier career: Junior Boys Own, Shoom, Sabres, Two Lone Swordsmen etc

Saw this. Wasn’t a fan, but too young. RIP

Seen him play a fair few times at his A Love From Outer Space night amongst others and he was a total class act each and every time.
A real loss - absolutely gutted. RIP.

I think this is more culturally relevant to us, a forum of middle-aged blokes.
A real loss. Screamadelica was more an Andrew Weatherall masterpiece than a Primal Scream one. RIP.

When I moved from free rave parties to clubs he was one of the first decent DJs at Golden in Hanley Stoke which at the time was a top top top place to go.
Massive shame.

Very sad. Still listen to bits of Haunted Dancehall these days. Very talented bloke.

In tribute to Andrew Weatherall, this week's Essential Mix was a replay of his mix from way back in 1993.
Enjoy...
