is that what he’s famous for?! They’re scraping the barrel this season!
More famous for taking on the role of Kevin Whateley’s sidekick in Endeavour, the successor show to Inspector Morse.

Yeah, I don’t watch ITV either 😄

He was also in a few films, one where private school kids get locked in a bunker, with Keira Knigtley. he plays a rugby playing braying fucknut so not too much of a stretch. Also part of the Fox acting dynasty, nephew of Edward Fox from Day of the Jackal and ten billionty other war films.

Middling episode, Baja bit was good, shame they didn't get further. Maybe Harris was able to overtake so many others because they knew it was a long race and the car needed nursing!

I was rather surprised the transmission was belt-driven? :?

So was I to start with but I've seen a couple of race mowers in other clubs using these belt drive torque convertors and they are really hardy and the belts generally last a long, long time. I would imagine it was a defective belt as you do get the odd duff batch. It's just the thing with these big enduros though you can do all the prep in the world and even carry things like a spare belt (we often do this) to change in an emergency but for it shredding and taking out the wiring when 99 times out of 100 it will just snap and fall off you can't account for.
I had one go a few years ago that snapped 4 laps into the 12hr and decided to wrap itself around all of the pulley guides and destroy them requiring a partial dismantling of the rear end to correct it.
Also loved the comments from Chris about 70#s/80's Tamiya models and the Sand Scorcher SRB.

All road going UTVs have that set up, essentially giant quad bikes, I was surprised that the race version also had it though as they need frequent inspections to ensure the correct tension otherwise they throw a belt. We had a new Kawasaki UTV which needed its first tension inspection at 50 hours but it lasted 5 hours

Piss poor episode IMO...

Baja - fuck all about the history, fuck all about the car. Stopped after the first checkpoint- poor

Car round-up. 100% Clarkson. Literally been done exactly the same by Clarkson.

Megan - decent review but then, would ANYONE been surprised if Hammond got out of the Cayman?

It’s been half decent of late but not that one...

I like the Aston less the more I see it. Referring to the Ferrari as not being a sports car was stupid and I go to The Lion regularly and struggle to get parked as the car park is alway heaving so I'm saying it was a crap episode!!

I don’t like the new undersized headlights with oversized grill trend.

Aston have gone from bring the prettiest cars to the ugliest ones. They look like cheap kit cars from a company employing a handful of people and the designer was some beardy guy who built a mildly successful race car 30 odd years ago.

Not sure that colour suited the Aston.

And Paddy’s sports car cred didn’t fare too well in the 20 seconds or so where he declared he had a California and loved it, followed by saying the top speed of the Portafino was in F40 territory. Cos that’s why the F40 is so revered right, straight line speed.

Another good episode IMO.

Ummm, well yeah actually! Wasn't the F40 the fastest top speed of any production car in its day (& the First production car to break 200 mph iirc?)

Yes, the first “production” *cough* F40 hit 200.

After that Car and Driver only managed 197.

First 200 mph production car my arse.
