Cool road trip, you seemed to stop for petrol a lot. We're the cars that thirsty or was it more to give the drivers a break?

Sounds like driving in Virginia is like driving in Victoria, slow and unpleasant with a lot of trucks.
Internships seem very weird, but I won't ask for an explanation, I'm probably happier not knowing.

Yup, about the same as Victoria.
On the Internship, probably yes. Its pretty intense.
