Index is supposed to be one of the best for SDE, "without" I'm not sure any do yet.

Question is do I delete my entire B'day, black friday and Xmas wish lists to spring for a VR set before March....

I saw this and now have an urge to play through the originals at the weekend and then find out what options are for VR.

Main machine is still a Mac, so not sure if bootcamp and an external GPU are a realistic option or if I should be looking at a gaming machine.

I’m concerned it’ll be another “tech demo” type game for the knuckles controller

Maybe I’m wrong

But I’m not about to drop £2500ish to find out - PC, peripherals, headset, knuckles, light boxes, etc etc

You can play HL2 in VR. Warning, you need a steady stomach, but it's pretty awesome when you walk out of that train and need to drop the can in the trash (it's as far as I got before my head gave out...)

All of the Half Life franchise is free to play (not to own) for the next two months in the lead up to the release of Alyx.

Maybe I'll revisit Opposing force and Blue shift for a laugh.

Excellent. The blink movement looked very un Half life but I know some people need it for VR motion sickness, glad it's one of a few options.

Now out.

Getting great reviews - but obviously suffering from the negatives of needing £1500 of hardware to play it.

 I was preparing to play on my mate's Quest from yesterday..... Now wondering if dropping £££ on a headset to be delivered is wise.

I went to pick this up last night...and my gfx card doesn't even meet the min specs  cards are crazy expensive at the moment too. I think I'll just have to wait a few months.

RX580 8GB is a bit above min spec and they're buy it now from fleabay for £100.

I've got a liquid cooling kit to go onto my 580 when I'm feeling brave. :?

What are you trying to play it on?

Digital foundry had it running on a gtx1060 and it seemed to be ok.

It’s a very interesting video. I wasn’t expecting the outcome
