New favourite since my post above is Tesco 35 day dry aged Ribeye. Thicker than their normal cut and sooo juicy. Absolutely fab on the BBQ.

Yep, a lot of places do lean cuts with no marbeling, which imo is a pointless bit of beef to eat by itself, it’s more suited to a stew etc.

On the contrary Dave, I say meat with plenty of fat is idea for stewing, the slow rendering of the fat into the stock adding to the flavour. Lean meat isn't the best for stewing - at least in my experience

A question for those with wood pellet BBQs, where do you get pellets from usually? Any pellets a lot better than others or all much of a muchness?

I cooked my partner a thick cut ribeye from M&S recently, it was apparently very good.

The M&S thick cut steaks are great for a reverse sear,

Also take a steak rub well

I cook meat better than them, so they get an occasional steak or something as a treat

Had a BBQ today as the sun peeked out. Tried to cook the Brazillian beef skewer (can't remember the name) but it wasn't half as good as last time, simply as there wasn't enough grease/fat on the cuts. My Ribeye was lush though.

After 2 years of procrastination including not being able to find a decent charcoal BBQ with my requirements (coal rack that can be raised and lowered) and then thinking I want to go Gas, I stumbled across the perfect compromise

I give you The Pit Boss Memphis 2

It’s a jack of all trades - there are better gas grills (Jobbo’s for example) there are better Charcoal grills (Komodo Eggs) etc but it’ll do everything to a quality I need.

I’m particularly impressed by the fact you can route the smoke to the Gas Grill side

Wow, that’s a beast. I like my gas grill but it is just a gas grill. Nice one Dinny.
