But can we please get a full Veyron/911 sized mega kit of a licensed Le Mans racer. Take your pick, 917, 962, 963, 787B, any of the icons...

Re: Lego
I see it made sense they released this a good few years after the other one - let's face it, if they'd done this first they'd have sold seven of the others

Re: Lego
The NZ price is the same as it was for the other LandRover - not saying it's cheap but it hasn't gone up. Is the UK price higher for this new one?
Re: Lego
The RRP is about £50 higher but the previous one was often discounted so it’s about £100 more than you could regularly buy the Technic set for. These Icons vehicle models are rarely discounted much.KiwiDave wrote: Mon Mar 20, 2023 12:44 amThe NZ price is the same as it was for the other LandRover - not saying it's cheap but it hasn't gone up. In what will obviously be the start of a slippery slope, I bought one of those Star Wars helmets - The Mandalorian. I've since found that some of the original ones have already been retired.
You know where this is headed.
Goddammit...

I've got the Leia helmet waiting for me at the office tomorrow, along with more of the flower displays. And in this months order I have the new LR Defender.
Am now on the hunt for a Tie Fighter Pilot helmet...
Cheers,

Re: Lego
The helmet collection has grown significantly since discovering them and thinking they do look cool after all. Mrs Mike is not impressed.Barry wrote: Sun Apr 02, 2023 11:03 pm Welcome to the club, pull up a chair, and say goodbye to your spare cash..![]()

I did get the Storm Trooper one from eBay which was listed as "no missing parts", but of course its missing parts. So far, nothing on the outside so should be good, but annoying nonetheless. The address on the box makes me think I'm dealing with a child or someone so cunning as to get their child to write the address so I wouldn't leave them negative feedback.

In a feeble attempt to save myself some money I've stuck with the SW busts so far, but the Star Lord one appeals too. Looks like I'll be getting the next SW dioramas too, as Lego clearly knows how to rinse my bank every month.. then theres the SSD mini next month too.

The Star Lord one looks really good - I guess it lends itself really well to being replicated in Lego.Barry wrote: Mon Apr 10, 2023 10:02 pm In a feeble attempt to save myself some money I've stuck with the SW busts so far, but the Star Lord one appeals too. The speeder bike diorama looks very nice!
I've started a return for the Stormtrooper one - more missing pieces. Its a harsh lesson kid but you''ve got to learn it....

Re: Lego
I'd say set boundaries and be sensible, which is essentially what I've done. "Speed Champions that aren't shit and the odd awesome transport one..."
And then I look to my immediate right of the desk I'm typing from and there's nine yet-to-be-opened kits, a bonsai tree already made up and the Great Wave art kit sat waiting. (I have a thing for Japan obviously).
And behind my desk is full, the Mrs' office (the only one with a decent shelf) has most of the Speed Champions and there's a few kits downstairs hiding on a bookshelf.
It's a very slippery slope...

Re: Lego
eBay stepped-in, so I now have an incomplete Stormtrooper helmet and my money back for it. Of course, looking at the guy's feedback, he's done this trick before. No idea what he thinks is going to happen though...
I've tracked down a Tie Fighter Pilot helmet for sensible money, albeit without a box, so I'm hoping it has all the parts...
I also picked up the house from Up which is a nice little set with lots of cool details in it from the movie.

Re: Lego
Mike, not sure if you are aware of the VIP membership thing when buying direct from Lego (in store or mail order). You get points for each purchase which add up to discounts, and there's no fee so it's a no-brainer if you're buying stuff; generally certain rarer/exclusive sets don't get discounted at other retailers so the points add up to a discount which is worth having; plus the freebie sets which you only get buying from Lego stores which often sell for £25+ on eBay.
I mention it because my wife got me the Up set for nothing using VIP discounts recently.

Re: Lego
Thanks @Jobbo, I'll look in to that, sounds like even more incentive to buy more sets which is always good.Jobbo wrote: Wed Apr 19, 2023 5:52 pm Mike, not sure if you are aware of the VIP membership thing when buying direct from Lego (in store or mail order).
