I’m constantly gutted that I don’t own a flatpackable vehicle

Being air portable, I see no downsides!!

Plus you can fix the body by just using flat sheet.

Also it’s narrower than a standard series so you could probably drive straight into Saddams living room.

Dave!

Only a year since I picked this up, got around to fitting it in the Stepwgn. From plastic and no buttons to leather with buttons. Of course, the connector is different so I'll have to pull it all apart again at some point to figure out the wiring to the stereo.

Genuinely surprised they don't use the same connector, you'd think that'd make more sense from a production line config standpoint :?

Did the new wheel/connector make the whole dash light up like a Christmas tree?

Michelin are awesome, they had a £100 off deal for tyres purchased from their list of participating vendors which was mainly large chains. My tyre fitter wasn’t on the list but they just emailed me saying they’ll honour the discount anyway 8-)

Looks good!

Are airbags a pain to work with or is that a phallacy?

Load of nonsense.

I’ve never seen an airbag system that’s active with the ignition off, so as long as you’re sensible they’re fine.

Followed a guide for Civic, it was much the same. Disconnected battery for 5 mins before, then there’s a door on the back of the wheel with the airbag connector inside. Unplug and it’s safe.

Still kept well out the way while I was doing it though!

I see you've fitted a knee since the first photo too. :)

This. Although I always have a tinge of nervousness handling them.

It appears to be a Knee-can-opener. Expensive.

Personally I think it is a bit irresponsible to take the “after” pictures whilst doing 188mph.

Very much this, replaced the clock spring in the navara and have replaced steering wheels in both combo and l200 and although you know they are not active its still squeaky but time when connecting and disconnectin them!
Got a spare bag for the combo that I need to work out something amusing to do with next season when we're racing.

Although the Q7 made it to The North & back again no problem I was starting to have a feeling of unease about it. The wife is out in it right now and has just phoned to say the EML light has come on. Hmmm. I'll get the code reader on it this evening.

Although I know they’re safe I also do what the others above have done and kept out of the direct line of fire while disconnecting the airbag

But don’t be a wally and decide you want to listen to the radio while poking about in the car when the airbag is removed or you end up with a nice little light on the dash

So the old bastards who sit at the entrance to the village wasting their lives measuring car speeds are not as powerless as I thought. Apparently it’s a community speed watch program and they refer offenders details to police. I’ve been sent a letter as I’m a repeat offender and apparently if I get a few they will investigate further. Luckily I like to drive a different car each time and they haven’t clocked that the 3 different reg plates belong to the same cunt.
