I’m worried this might have my name on it. How bad an idea is it to buy a non-running Porsche barge ??

It'll be the lpg system, it says they left it running and it conked out. My VR6 used to do it.

I’m curious as to what kind of fuck nugget you have to be to take a picture of a car, then do a piss poor photoshop of it on a black and white background! I thought it was a toy car

What was the solution ? Some brief research suggested a failed fuel pump is quite likely but I’d not really thought about the LPG side. Doesn’t it default to petrol if there’s an LPG fault ?

I'm guessing the lpg controller switches the fuel pump off when it activates the lpg system so there could be a fault there rather that with the fuel pump itself?

Personally I'd rather have a meaty petrol v8 than a diesel v10 too.

Feck. That's quite scary. But also very impressed with the wood in the fuel gauge !

The Touareg was supposedly reckless, but apart from replacing most of the front suspension - not hugely surprising on a big heavy car with 120k miles on it - it's been good. Never broken down or refused to start.

Isn’t it the 4.5 litre engines which had a lot of problems with bore wear?

If you have the time, it must be pretty tempting as that will be worth a decent amount in parts without getting too mucky.

I was tempted by a cheap Cayenne until I read a buyers guide. Apparently there’s a billion things that WILL go wrong, any one of which will cost double the purchase price to fix. Apparently a lot of Indy Porsche specialists won’t touch them and recommend throwing them in the bin.

But a really, really cheap one? I’d still be tempted if I had the space.
