Big big clap for Elon. Giving a blue tick to everyone who pays has worked great

If only everyone in the world had warned him that this would happen

Is there a way for threads to show you when someone has responded Tom one of your posts/comments? Like twitter does?
I only want to see when I am in the app - not interested in push notifications.

Heart symbol and then replies?

A week later and I'm already back on Twitter. Three reasons:
1. Twitter is available in my browser
2. Threads is full of people trying to be outspoken like a schoolkid trying to assert dominance over a new den they found in the woods.
3. People are posting too many images on Threads
4. People are still having better conversations on Twitter

I can't see what threads offers the average user that Twitter doesn't? Unless Twitter dies, I don't get why anyone would bother with it. Presumably everyone jumping on it now is just to make sure they're on it from "the beginning" and is probably still posting on twitter too.
there we go.

As a Twitter user I don't get 'Threads'. Insta literally has a different audience than Twitter. There's no way it's gonna steal its market, Musk or not.

I have a suspicion the current Twitter is not in a stable state.

I have a feeling that Musk is not in a stable state.
Musk is suing the laywers that Twitter used to force him to buy Twitter.

Yes, lets take branding that is part of daily language, the sort of thing that no marketing firm can get you and can only occur by becoming part of The World As It Is, and replace it with something that sounds like it came from a 14 year old on 1997.
It's like this, but this game was made knowing it was a nod and a wink silly throwback to that era. Musk is being utterly serious.

Saw a post on Reddit saying Elon tried to rebrand PayPal to X.com in 2000, but was forced out by the board and replaced as CEO by someone else. So he's been waiting 23 years to roll it out again. Surely it will always been known and referred to as Twitter?
And as an update for Threads as well, I see that usage has apparently dropped by 70%. That lasted long then I tried it for a few days and I've deleted it off my phone.

Apparently Elon is going to call videos on new Twitter (X) "XVideos"
Protip - do NOT google that from work.

A friend just sent me a link to Twitter and when I opened it, it's been rebranded to "X"
Because rebranding is what successful businesses do, right?

My Twitter usage has dropped so much. It's silly that you now see a bunch of irrelevant 'blue ticks' as the first replies to all threads regardless. Musk is on a YOLO to waste $44 billion it seems.

And the new logo is literally just Unicode Character “𝕏” (U+1D54F).
Presumably because he already fired the entire graphic design team ? And I'm guessing you can't copyright a unicode character. Someone will have fun with that.

- Threads activity dies down a bit after the initial interest.
- Elon decides to reduce activity on Twitter by changing the name, logo and app colour so you can't find it.
