Went out for a bike ride to stop from seizing up. Saw a pregnant woman out for a walk with her elderly parents.

Shit just hit the fan today re. my tenants.
Flat 1 - sub-tenant/lodger did a runner, so the rest have bailed, despite my offer of reduced rent and deferred payment of that
Flat 2 - One tenant out of 3 sharing has been offered a job/accommodation elsewhere so he's given notice. Remaining 2 can't afford the rest, so I've had to offer 2/3 rent until lockdown ends.
Flat 3 - One out of 3 totally skint and panicking (zero hours contract in hospitality) - offered half rent, deferred until its over.
Flat 4 - 60 year old heavy smoker. Still working at the moment, but have offered full deferral as soon as he wants to stop (TBH, I hope he does sooner rather than later).
Waiting on updates from 2 other flats who are zero hours/hospitality/self-employed/vulnerable groups

Loads out round here too, just a shame they all still feel the need to congregate in the usual spots. J&S cafe/carpark was rammed. I went wandering the Cheshire lanes on my own, had a pleasant picnic in middle of bumfvck nowhere, in silence. Quite enjoying this isolation lark at the moment.

That sucks. We've got 1 empty as the tenant moved out 6 weeks ago and as they'd had 7 kids in 10 years they've worn out everything in the house. Everything, kitchen, bathroom, plug sockets, worn through the laminate floor in hall way, it's a right state
Another gave notice Saturday as they are moving in with parents for care reasons but other than that we've had no issues so far but have had some communication from lenders that we will have an automatic option to defer interest, so that's a reassurance.
We put a starting bid in for a house 6 weeks ago and they've left a message yesterday accepting it. That will wipe us out for cash so I'm a little panicky as regards seeing that through.

Ended up having to work again today but escaped for a run in the countryside with the dog this morning. Have finally caught up with what’s going on and it appears that people are just doing whatever the fuck they want. Did I imagine all the press about social distancing? Or is Boris just not being tough enough in his message? All those picture made of parks rammed with people and for our bike rides.
Oh, and people heading for Scotland and Wales. Time to shut our own borders I think.

I went out the front of my house yesterday, my road is usually fairly busy with cars but not really on the way to anywhere walking. Now it’s like a sports centre! In the few minutes I was out there I saw loads of groups walking, running, cycling...

Today's message seemed very much like a polite way of saying "we're giving you one last chance"

They won’t get it. People are stupid & selfish. This isn’t news.
Cordon off London as a start. The M25 would make a good boundary line.

I agree. Box London in and then nuke it.

Can I obtain a travel pass from the OV9 authorities?
Had a run down to birling gap today - seemed like a general supercar outing. Had a fun thrash along the clifftop road with a 458 in tow which was fun. Unlike seemingly most others, I didn’t set foot outside the car however...
Lockdown will come shortly I think. Like all previous measures it’s a matter of time.

Where it's worked in other countries is that you need a written declaration of where you're going (supermarket). And sometimes they only allow 1 from each household at a time etc

Will there be freedom to and from work for those who can’t work from home ?
Must be incredibly hard to police.
Dave!
