What’s the van spec? Is it a ‘family van’?
It'll be a black scene-spec T6. We don't need a what car thread for that one

What have they done with the interior? It is gopping. If I'd spent a £100k+ on a car I'd want it to look and feel like an expensive quality item, not a shiny plastic stereo from the 80s. It looks messy, cheap and tacky.

I've heard videogames that sound better than that.
Like Stunt Car Racer. On the Commodore 64.
I mean, the M135i has fake sounds, but it's relatively subtle, not that shite.

The modern target market for Merc and AMG is very different these days though. Big screens, chrome and LED's are very much "in". If you live in the West Mids like I do, I think the average age for an AMG owner is about 25.

It’s what sells. We’re old and poor and not the target market.

I doubt they will sell many S65 AMGs. It’s a bit stupid and it’s not as if the V12 previous generation ones sold in great numbers.

I was of the opinion up to 6 years ago that you can’t buy a bad new car. Any car will be comfortable enough, take you from A to B. From a NCG perspective, they’re all acceptable.
After being in various new cars I now take that back. The annoying and often wrong safety aids, the crap interiors which aren’t particularly user friendly. Seems like everything feels cheaper again too.
Also my pet hate is how everything gets more complex, then there’s a longer start up time because car manufacturers are crap at software.
Old car, you get in, turn/push key - infotainment instantly on, music playing, can adjust heating etc. Cheaper new car - push button. Car turns on. Blank infotainment. Boots 20 seconds later. Laggy as fvck. Another 10 seconds. Radio comes. Another 20 seconds, CarPlay connects…
Just an exercise in frustration.

I've posted about this in the Car Hire Thread - I recently had a Fiat Panda which was horrible.
It didn't feel like you could safely drive it at 70 (so I kept it at 65 on the Motorway. There was nowhere to store anything (phone, glasses etc) and it was so small that when my other half was rummaging in her bag on the passenger seat, she kept elbowing my left arm causing the steering to judder.

As a normal car my 2019 focus is brilliant, unlocks and locks with a button on the key so it’s not going to be stolen via a relay device, push button start, actual dials for taco and speedo, big enough screen that’s not too laggy and is easy to use without dominating the dash, actual buttons for the hvac controls, independent rear suspension so it’s great fun to fling about, and all the safety devices are easily disabled and stay disabled.
I went in my friends 2024 facelifted focus- they’ve binned off the front fog lights, the screen is massive and incorporates the hvac so you have to look away from the road to operate anything, the instruments are a screen but the animation isn’t as smooth as an actual dial, and it no longer has the independent back end, they got rid of it and put in torsion beam suspension instead. It’s a bit quicker and slightly more economical as it’s a mild hybrid but so many things seem like a step backwards to me
