This week the Passat, the 7 & the Touareg are all brilliant, they do everything I want them to and more. They’re the best car I’ve ever had. And they’re all amazingly good on fuel.

It's fucking great, but I am biased First time I've got up early for a blast for a few weeks. It's a bit barmy even with 140bhp tbh, mainly due to the perfect gear ratios dropping you back in the power. Unfortunately some changes (second to third is worst) are a bit crunchy, so can't be rushed as much as I'd like! Saving for a gearbox rebuild next year, new gearbox oil didn't cure it.
The lights were on tbf Simon, given the car park was empty I hope it was just the cleaners

If magic happens I’ll get an Ariel Nomad, it normality resumes I’ll do the few trips I want to do with the 500e and then sell it for a Caterham, I can just see it being more useable in the future and I generally like to bond with cars over a long time.
140hp sounds like a useable amount of power. There is a lot to be said for being able to bury the throttle.
Very cool car
Dave!

Lovely stuff Chris.
I took the rear underside guard off the Fabia. Another 10kg or so of sheet metal I don’t need at the upcoming Autosolo.
I had a couple of runs with that car when ScottF owned it. It was not slow.
Yep, just the kind of sale you wish for really.
Even after I took the decat pipe off for MOT purposes (I should have left it and added a sport cat, but didn't think of it enough before the MOT) it was still rapid. 20bhp/lb ft less with the OEM cat back in. Popped a bit less though, after that. I didn't have a friendly MOT place like Scott did.
It was fun having a ding-dong with you at Bedford in my Carrera.
