How does that work then? Creating cool air requires heat to be soaked somewhere - with AC it is usually a radiator situated outside of the environment you want to cool (house, car etc). Does it sink into a water container or something?

The pictures are misleading, it has a heat outlet hose like you usually get with portable ACs. Although I guess if you’re camping it doesn’t really matter and you can just use it like a fan which has the benefit of blasting out ice cold air.

What fvckery is this? At what should be the coolest part of the day the Met Office Has us as 21°, feels like 22 °. I guess that'll be the pollution that's hanging around then

Got downstairs this morning and it was 25 degrees in the hall and lounge. It's scary how well the house holds onto the heat.

18c here in the countryside at 5am and feeling a little fresher. Still hot and stuffy indoors though.

I'm going to Fairford airshow at the weekend, that's going to be hot place to be with its acres of concrete. I'm just hoping we get a slight breeze.

I want to buy a large chest freezer and live in it.

Just been out to dropn the boy at school and it was a pleasant 15C. House felt like a fecking oven when I got back though - easily 25C downstairs. I might have to get in the loft at this rate and crack the skylight open to release some of the stored heat in the roof space.

Cooler (but still Hot) but very humid today - I don't like humidity

Garden got a well needed soak yesterday - all the better as I had aerated it about a week ago

Came into the office today for a bit of AC respite, currently blowing at full chat above my head.

Off to Port Merrion at the weekend in the TVR, towels to cover the seats and plenty of sunblock in order, can't complain though at a bit of summer, we always get the odd week like this and then we'll be back to moaning about how rainy the UK is.

As usual, summer can get to fuck. Autumn and Winter can't come soon enough

I'm liking it. Our house is south facing so the back is hot, but we keep the doors closed and the front is absolutely fine. We've just moved into the front bedroom. I've ridden to work a few times and it's lovely in the morning (20° or so) and ok by the early evening. The office has AC so no bother during the day and it's great popping out at lunchtime for a walk in proper summer heat - today we ate outside in a restaurant and it was like being on holiday. Way better than being cold!

Yeah it’s still preferable to rainy and cold for me. Mornings and evenings are lovely and just perfect. I did pop out at lunch time today and could feel that it’s the bastard kind of sun that would cause sunburn very quickly, then saw a fainted woman who had 4 police officers fanning her!

I love the weather, but don’t enjoy working in it when it’s 30°C+ and don’t have aircon. Been getting up before 5 to get the bulk of my brain work smashed out before lunchtime when my flat really warms up, and then have a quieter afternoon.

If it’s affecting you that much perhaps you should consider a portable AC unit? One of things where once you buy one you wonder why you bothered struggling in the heat for so many years.

I'm not sure I could justify £170 for the twice a year it gets to 25+ deg in the house meself.

Last place I worked had a portable AC unit....for the MDs office, for when the top floor of the office goes above 30DegC, which it does every fucking year.

Yep, the closest to Earth of the year. I think it'll be too cloudy here to see it rise though, will miss it when looks largest It's forecast to clear later though so should get to see it at some point.

We've had our portable AC for 5 years now. Couldn't live without it. The house has got better since we had the new windows and doors installed last year, but it's still very good at soaking up the heat being timber framed. If it weren't for the likelyhood of us moving I'd probably have some split units put in upstairs.
