Unfortunately the media create hysteria about every subject until the next crisis comes along.
I'd be more worried about old people passing away of the cold later this year than anything else. There seems little uproar thus far that the cost of living is sky rocketing.
The lack of posts on this thread for example show noone really cares any more.
PS the tourism dollar really is more important![]()
Not so respectfully, if I could feed you head first into a wood chipper to stop your trolling, bullshit, thick as fuck and ignorant bilge being given space in this world, I would. Your bullshit, opinions and generally blase, self centred wanky attitude are what's wrong with this world. You are not adding any benefit, you're just making it worse.
I sat in a room a week before our restrictions kicked in with a GP who told me in no uncertain terms, to stay the fuck away from the virus at all costs as I'm at risk. My partner just this week has been confirmed as having an auto-immune disorder. I've sat in a room with one of my colleagues comforting them because entire generations of her family have died from it within weeks in Fiji. Imagine if everyone in your family - parents, cousins, siblings, aunts and uncles had gone, would be spouting your same bullshit then? You're a cunt for spouting it in the first place while this is the world people are actually experiencing, and you're a cunt if you'd carry on spouting it should your family suffer like theirs.
Just. Fuck. Off.

Was out on Friday night and the number of people not wearing masks was kind of jarring. I guess that people think the pandemic’s over because they’ve decided to ignore it.
If it mutates to a more aggressive strain again, we’re going to be back to square one.

As for the rant above from the ex chesterfield inbred I really don't care what you think

I’ll admit I respond to you more than I should for my own entertainment. People don’t want to post anything sensible though because you act like a cunt.
You’ve essentially killed your own thread, assuming actual discussion was ever the point.
I still find it odd that you troll here tbh. Like, it’s a small forum and we’ve all been here for years. It’s like getting to know the locals at a pub for years, then suddenly deciding to ask them all out to the car park for a square go

After 2 years we got it! My son first, then clear a day and I am now in day 6. I worked from home but sinuses blocked on Friday so spent he day dozing.
My son's school had half he kids off and decided now was the time to just stick all classes together maskless in an all school assembly. Yes, the current strain is more uncomfortable than deadly but as others have said, if it mutates yet again we are all back to square one!

My nephew has it at the moment so my parents (rip) can't visit. It's still, and always was, a very bad thing to catch if you're already unwell.Gavin wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 10:42 am After 2 years we got it! My son first, then clear a day and I am now in day 6. Luckily most folk are fit and able.
Re: Coronavirus
Bizarre that there seems to be an overlap between the people who prefer to look after our own when it comes to helping the rest of the world and the people who can’t be arsed with minor inconveniences to help our own during a pandemic.

Re: Coronavirus
After 2 years of being careful it's finally in the house. My 11 year old daughter tested positive this morning. So far aside from the cough she isn't feeling too bad. My lad has a cough but is still testing negative. I'm ok thus far. Kinda hope it stays that way as I'm asthmatic and I don't fancy testing how vulnerable that might make me.
It is what it is though. She's not complaining at a week off school!

You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

Re: Coronavirus
Step daughters boyfriend came down with it at the weekend, she felt rough but was negative yesterday. Did another test when she got home and is positive.
Definitely know more people who’ve got it / had it over the past couple of weeks than any other point.
Thankfully most just seem to be rough for 2-3 days. Be thankful for milder variants and vaccinations.

Re: Coronavirus
Despite having long covid, turns out you can still catch the fvcker again, just for good measure.
Went to a gig on Monday night, was careful as always, but from the minute we got to the venue, it was clear nobody else could give a fvck about masks so I kind of got a sinking feeling.
Mountain biked on Wednesday and had a bit of a sore throat, but struggled to sleep due to it and it was much worse on Thursday. Tested positive on LFT and its just been a really bad cold since then - aching all over, high temp, shivering, sore throat and lots of lovely snot.
Am in isolation in the house as Mrs Mike is on placement at the moment so really can't afford to get it.
My boy caught it a couple of weeks ago due to "dirty smooches" with his new girlfriend. That's a medical term according to Mrs Mike.

Re: Coronavirus
Day three without much sleep, this pesky sore throat feels like I’ve got glass down there every time I swallow.
My girl has it now and has zero symptoms which is good.

My Mrs has it. Horrible tickly cough and just feeling under the weather.Ascender wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 4:31 pm Day three without much sleep, this pesky sore throat feels like I’ve got glass down there every time I swallow.

As most of you know my thoughts on the whole thing. We didn't visit my parents yesterday and for the first time since this started I actually took a test as was around other people. Negative. I hope you all feel better soon. Seems everyone has it!
Re: Coronavirus
If your missus has it, Broccers, I imagine you’ll get it. She’ll have been infectious before she had symptoms.
Re: Coronavirus
Not necessarily. My wife had it last week and none of us caught it from her.
Cheers.

Hope you all get better soon. I've still got a cough and tight breathing from covid in Jan and flu in Feb, it's having an impact on my ability to do high-intensity exercise. Whether that's down to 'rona or flu, or both, they both like to hang around.
@Jobbo that's not always case, I know a few people who have avoided catching it when they live with someone who tested positive.
