So Hutch has decided that he is now deaf when other dogs are about, which is proving a pain.

Cooper ate a flat tin of cat food yesterday, luckily his acting skills are not the best.

Our dog must have jumped up at the front of the hob when the dog walker came at lunchtime today and turned a (gas) hob on.

Had a phone call from the wife at 5:30 saying she walked upto the house and could smell gas before she even got in the porch.

Had windows open for an hour and it still smells a little bit upstairs but OK downstairs.

Dog walker has been asked to check when they leave now, bit frightening that one!

Dogs eh!

Had no one available to look after the dog today so he was promoted to site inspector. He did impress me as he’s very much a city dog but seemed happy enough observing everything from a safe distance and avoiding all the machinery

So the current fleet is
1. German Shepherd 1.25yrs bold edition
2. Turkish Akbash (?) 8.9yrs rescue edition
3. Choccie Lab 14.5yrs old fucking superstar edition

You can’t walk all 3 simultaneously. No1 is often calm and compliant, but at other times is like I imagine it would be to hold an Exocet missile on a lead. No3 is amazing for her years, but a bit arthritic, going deaf, and her beautiful eyes are starting to mist over (on the cornea, not cateracts).

So I mix it up, but tonight I walked the missile on her own, and then took the other two out.

No3 shat on the pavement en route to the more traditional shitting spot as she couldn’t hold it in. Fair enough. No2 shat when we got to the traditional shorting spot, so she was a GOODGIRL.

It was later in the walk that things got a bit weird.

No2 was leading the way gently when she suddenly squatted for shit no2. Unusual, but when it appeared the texture was visibly softer - which explained the second coming.

Unfortunately no3 was snoofling along slightly behind at the time, and snoofled straight into the arse of no2 during the performance.

No3 then looked up at me rather confused, avec a soft-ish dogshit on her head

So despite around 17yrs of dog ownership (was never allowed one as a kid) - that’s a first for me! 😐

Aww, poor No3 (and No2 for having an upset stomach).

Reminds me of the children's book "the mole who knew it was none of his business".

Yeah, we regularly get people who are quite happy with kisses, strange folk 😂

Probably more likely to catch a disease off kissing a random person. Happened to me before 😂
Still avoid face to face contact with dogs though as they can be dirty bastards. I walked my neighbours black lab today. Threw it a stick which he got quite attached to. Then he put it down, accidentally shat on it. Found himself in a predicament so licked the shit off the stick and continued carrying it looking all proud.
Yeah keep your tongue away from my face buddy 😂

Getting the occasional lick is an occupational hazard with dogs, but it's that headline; "Should you stop kissing your dog on the mouth?"
When did people start doing that anyway?!

Approx 17-month old German Shepherd pupdate:

She still has lots of energy….

An average day now consists approx 1hr walkies, 30mins non-stop thrown-ball returning, 30 seconds wolfing down large quantities of food, 2 mins toileting, 8hrs sleep, 2 hrs cuddling up on the couch, and 16hrs running around inside the house, winding up our older dogs, barking at things outside, playing with toys, shoving toys under a couch and barking till they are retrieved for her, and partially or totally destroying said toys.

Here’s her new frisbee, and I’m glad I never bought a posh one - fans of office chairs look away now as she’s picked one castor that she likes to have a go on whilst I am on conf calls…. :?
