Shame they didn’t spend 30s showing the standard e30 rear diff mount to explain what they’d done with the new one for those that haven’t ever looked underneath one. The rest of the vids have been pretty good at explaining what they’re doing without going too in-depth and putting off people who aren’t mega car nerds.

I saw that as chav small block

I get the feeling that this swap (LS not small block Rob 😉) is one they’re doing for a super cheap ad as they seem to be trying to batter through it. It’s the only reason I can think for them using an LS too, doesn’t really fit with their brand.

I was expecting a 2JZ swap for a Toyota engined euro car face off with Moog’s new Exige.

Sorry* the Small block ohv V8 produced by General Motors (SVGM) let's call it the "Sphegnum" swap did come across as a bit rushed to me too. But I guess they were borrowing someone else's workshop time and maybe had to compromise. Mate of mine who is a BMW tech has a lovely E30 which he converted to a Toyota 3SGE and S15 driveline, sounds flipping epic revving out to 9k and is very handy on a track. The sphegnum swap will be good for the epiiic skidz and being loud (WTF is with twin the 3" secondaries).

For some in depth Toyota building goodness I'm enjoying the Supra Supreme V12 build by Quickshift/WTFA in Western Australia. But it's still a long way from finished.

True bogans have not yet forgiven Holden for dropping the iron block V8

*of course I'm not fucking sorry :P

Deja Vu all over again.
Some dude sits down with Chris Harris for a chat. Mainly about AMG.
It's nowhere near as good as Smith's casual chat last week but CH still has some interesting stuff to say.

8-) Very cool, and shows how stupid WRC was to let Ford/Citreon/VW etal get away with not making homologation runs of their WRC cars.

They must be losing money on each of these - its insane the detail and effort thats gone into it. Had no idea it was a completely different shell with lower roofline...and aluminium panels.

I love it. It's so crazy and pointless and random. As he says, it's an instant classic.

This occurred to me today. I’m not a fan of the Countach rear wing anyway, but this one appears to be “unique” :?:

EDIT1 this appears to be an S1/S2 wing. End plates appeared from S3 onwards. In fact this is visible on the image that I posted on the previous page!

EDIT2 I have just realised it is Ian himself crooning at 14m50s...

I don’t think there are many manufacturers that would sign off on the time and expense of homologating a car for a racing series like that these days. All the cool cars that have been coming from Toyota recently have been pet projects of Akio Toyoda.

 It’s where I nearly switched off to be fair - but that would have been a mistake.

I also now realise it is the S1/S2 that has the iffy front wheel offset that offends me. Way too inboard. Later cars filled the front arches much better....

He sang on the Italian Job Muira vid too. I think it said on that one that any money he makes from song sales goes to charity.

Good call. I'm loving what I've read about this car so far. If circumstances dictated we had to go from two cars to one, this is probably the one we'd choose. (Not that my missus has heard of them yet).

"We need to be more sensible with what we spend on cars"

"Ok darling, lets get a Yaris. Shall I just go down the dealer and get the best one I can find?"

"Oh, Paul, you're a darling, that would be lovely"

This is good and will make you miss old TG

Love the 450SE and the Griffith is an all time great.

I used to love watching Tuscan racing, it was always awesome.

Nice seeing VBH actually getting the clog down on-road.

And yeah I was a huge fan of the Tuscan racing series. One of them was racing at Knockie last time I was up seeing StrongBroo do their thing, and it was chuffin quick. 8-)

Yes, that’s almost what it’s like chez nous... but there’a GTS 4.0 with my name on it first. 8-)
