The world cup ruined our chances. Ozzies were far better

Re: Ashes
Their bowling attack, Steve Smith and the inability of our top order to occupy the crease were the key points.
Well done Aus. The best team won. Now let's go twat them in the final game.
Re: Ashes
It isn't, agreed. I just think that there have been moments where Jimmy could have been the difference against Smith, he's such a technician, he would have asked more questions.
Re: Ashes
To save opening a new thread, anyone caught much of this series with India? I've watch it here and there and often the BBC highlights where I can't watch live, been a brilliant series. Shame we couldn't get it over the line today, but it would have been harsh for India to lose the series too.
Re: Ashes
Mostly TMS - absolutely fantastic stuff. Disappointed with Bethel and Smith on the last day - all they needed to do was push and run, no need for big shots at all!
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

Re: Ashes
It's the Bazball way!
I used to be a bit unsure of it, but it kinda works both ways, Brook played some big shots and accumulated runs quickly and it really puts the pressure back on the fielding team at times and makes them re-think / overthink.
I'm certain that England teams of old would not even have got close to that chase by playing conservatively, and the Bazball era chases are well up there in the record books.
It was doing a lot, the Indian bowlers delivered some good spells and even Root was playing and missing quite a bit before he got out so I like to think it was an amazing effort to get basically one big shot from winning it.
