I keep thinking the composition on these shots of trees, etc. is excellent but would be made even better with something with halfway decent resolution... but actually they're almost watercolour like in their smudginess so now I'm not so sure
It is nice when you have a proper camera that will pick out each individual leaf though:
Back to phones though - this was a recent one of the Royal Exchange that juxtaposed the old and the new quite nicely:

I've taken photos, looked at them on a big screen and then think Tim's tucking us up
Either I'm broken or he has a better camera

Doesn't matter mate, lovely composition...
I can easily see that, printed out on Canvas and hanging on a living room wall...

The resolution is definitely increased from my iPhone 7 but the photos do look horribly processed in places by the internal software. The clouds in the first photo look stuck on from a different image as the software has sharpened the ridge line of the hills so much.
The second photo is pretty good overall (though smeary when enlarged) but the third is awful if you look at the grass on the right hand side around the sunrays as the phone has pixellated it quite badly to bring up the shadows.
Nice shots though!

They’ve also ‘upped’ the HDR on the Xs - not sure I like it, seems to darken the dark bits too much and lightens the light bits to the point of making them pure white. My phone pictures look more like game screenshots now.

Good to see the chronic levels of overthinking are under control

I do need to read up on how to get the best out of the iPhone camera (the settings are still a mystery) and I don't know what resolution/size those ones are as I just dragged them out of a folder. Just not enough hours in the day.
