I like Duncs' headgear. I might have to reconsider my usual choice of a baseball cap when driving a convertible; that's more of a young man's choice I suspect. Does the flat 'at brim actually shade the sun much though?

HaHa, this is a thread in itself @Jobbo! My standard issue hat in the winter is a wooly one, but annoyingly I lost it a few weeks ago (in Suffolk somewhere funnily enough). So I kinda ended up with the flattie because I forgot that I do actually own a baseball cap (Nordschleife no less). It didn't perform well sadly, not confidence inspiring above about 55mph, and I'm sure if I looked skywards it would have been gone. So I was kinda in and out of it.

Get it started then!
I own both a common-or-garden flat cap, and a baker-boy style flat cap (although I rarely wear either). Both provide shade from the sun by virtue of their peaks, and provide far more warmth than baseball caps whilst doing so.
I decided these are more suitable for me now I am a Country Member.

I recently cut what remaining hair I had off, it's surprising how much insulation it was still providing. No hat on a cold day (or indeed a hot day) is no longer an option, so I need to expand my repertoire. Mind you, I've had that one for ages and it's a great performer.

Good grief, we've hit the flat cap era of meets
Seems like a good day for it, although the lack of pictures and fuzzy videos of suspect overtaking is a bit of a disappointment.

In case anyone wants a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the underground world of Suffolk car meets, then here's a very short section of the events captured from dashcam footage on the day at least you can see all the cars, and briefly Tim's motorbike as we leave the car park. Lovely roads and lovely weather

its amazing isn’t it. i lopped all mine off 3-4 years ago and was surprised at how much warmth the thin covering was providing. You get used to it but the first few months were chilly (it wasn’t even in the winter either.)

Good choice of headgear @duncs500, I approve!

Erm, that's possibly the problem. We're old fuckers. I'm 55 in a couple of months!

How good does the Elise still look after all these years though? Especially in that yellow.
Definitely a marmite colour, but I like it. I didn't realise that the Elise smelled until this weekend though, must just be used to it.
Smelled?
If we're talking about the same thing, the smell of my friend's brand new S1 Elise's is still something burnt into my being. Very, very unique.

reminds me of my little boys assessment of my Elise. It’s loud and fun and it smells.
Have I missed a "new car" thread or has he just gone to look at some with you?
Looks fun guys.
We should really try one in the South of Scotland, not just because that is an easy one for me, but because the EVO crew (hawk tuah) regularly bomb around near me as the roads are bloody great.
