I've bought some Netgear Orbi's (850's I think) off eBay this week as I had the same feedback @Jobbo from a network genius I know. He says they're the best you can get for using at home.

We've got some TP-Link Decos but they're not great based on my experience - albeit the speed boost of fttp is probably going to fix the issues - so I'll try the Orbi setup next week and see.

And yes, if you're not using the other wifi on the ISP router, definitely turn it off.

I am not a massive fan of the Orbis - takes ages for them to find each other and to re-boot after a power cut. They do seem pretty rock solid when you've allowed them time to settle in though.

My second hand ones turned up and you're right, in terms of setting up and finding the satellites, it was like trying to get a teenager out of bed before lunchtime.

But now they're up? Much faster than the TP-Links and far better coverage due to their size.
