Wales made more than a 100 tackles in the first half which is more than you would expect in a full game again. So as with the Fiji game Aus didn't do much wrong in the first half but Wales strangled the points out.
David Flatman summed it up well for me:
Wales looked tonight like a truly horrid team to play against. A pack of dogs. An organised pack of dogs!

Just been able to open the thread as I've just managed to finish watching the games. Seemed to me like Aus had some decent individual players, but they don't seem to really have an identity IMO. The thing that shocked me though was every time the Wales forwards got a maul going they made so many yards, you rarely see that between top teams. Beyond that Wales just had that proper structure, organisation and quality, and they delivered.
As for Ireland, what a bruising encounter. Again, a brilliantly organised and quality team, so hard to play against.
Excellent all round.

Regarding the Ire/SA game - one thing I didn't like much was the near constant attempts from IRE to influence the ref. This has been creeping into the game and they need to knock it on the head imo - the ref should have cut them dead on that nonsense. I find it hard to say this, but the SA team were far classier in that regard.
It's a shame because otherwise it was such a great game. Those guys will be hurting for days I imagine. And an incredible atmostphere.
I think Wales did the Aussie guys a favour - if they'd made it through and faced any of the top sides they'd have been utterly steamrollered.

And Eng, Sco and Wal not displayed as GB/GBR
Btw, why is UK code GB and not UK? An oddity I wasn't aware of.

Has always been RSA in rugby union. Makes sense as team names are a three letter abbreviation - neither SA or ZA work but I guess they could use ZAF!

What a half for Tonga! Fantastic performance again SA and really should be in front. They are tough boys and their captain / 3 is a human wrecking ball - love it!

I couldn't believe the scoreline after 20mins as Tonga had absolutely dominated (ZA).

Unbelievable given their countries population of 100,000.

Easily the best game I’ve watched so far. Their heart and perseverance to the end was remarkable - the scoreline truly flattered the boks.

I had to Google that to check. That is absolutely crazy.
