I only went to evo track days at Bedford, around 2006 would have been my first. Did anyone on here go on the Kent runs organised by JayKabi? On Boatshoes, around 2006-9?
Used to start before 6am, and they could get a bit silly. As a passenger in a mates car doing around 130 on a country lane trying to keep up with the F40 in front was memorable. A tvr went into the scenery on my first one.
Around 2005-8 there were also quite a few organised runs from the Guildford area down to Goodwood Sunday services. Variable driving standards - I stopped joining when an MR2 turbo went into the ditch in front of me.
I can’t imagine doing the same today, even if I was in my twenties.

I only tended to do the northern/midland runs, and they could get a little giddy at times for sure. I remember the 355 event, but I wasn't part of that group. Similarly, the 172 off roading incident was on a meet I was at, but thankfully wasn't part of. As I said earlier in this thread, it was clear that some attendees didn't quite have the right head/skills balance for my liking, so I stopped attending road meets generally. The trackday meets were usually more fun anyway, and generally safer (I'll gloss over the Clio Williams that rolled, he wasn't part of the EVO attendees)
Age/common sense/fear for licence tend to keep me calm these days, I'll make progress but I won't pull the pin very often..

What happened to the F355??
And who's was it? Only person I remember having one was called Cal I believe.
It was owned by a chap called Dan (Desperate_Dan or something) and he took someone out for a p-ride from the pub after lunch and crashed it.
Scott_Mac, IIRC

things like the lady from the church who came out and asked David (exiges) to turn his engine off, that sort of thing
Similarly, I may have mis-remembered this, but I think
@speedingfine had a farmer waving his shotgun around because he kept blasting past his farm in his Caterham?
I may have overly dramatised that, I'm sure he will correct me

That was one of my acquaintances I believe at Ben's Anglesey bday bash. The perils of slick tyres
Oh and I'm sure there was a pic of Mr Ritchies Williams nose down and arse up in a ditch with a few evo members pointing
Speaking of which, his LOO pic at Spa was a thing of legend at one stage on the Clio boards. Not sure I have a copy anymore

Had the Mk2 Golf 16v then Matty so it wasn't me!
I remember being shown the first Apple iPod by Jon Honeyball at the Stratford meet

MarkR was a talented but mental driver for sure, and I do remember those pics from Spa/Monza (?) well. Pretty sure I'll have them archived somewhere on the old PC. I'll fire it up and see what I can find.

I think I've been to a couple of trackdays with evo forum members in attendance, Cadwell and Elvington where Neb spent the day understeering his m5 around the circuit
Not sure when I joined the forum, maybe 2001/2 ish?

Great photos @Barry, I’m guessing the photos were from pre-digital camera so taken with old fashioned films?
What’s funny is I’d be gladly to own many of the cars now shown in the photos. Exige, F355, Elise, DC2, 22B, R33, 106/306, ATR, Clio Williams, 993, 944 etc etc. What a great era of cars.

We met at Cadwell didn't we, I remember that.
Edit: this very day in fact.

It was Andym_172 that ended up with his Clio in a ditch wasn't it? He who couldn't understand the irony of him working for his Dad and being able to afford his car was "absolutely no different" from him working for a regular company and working his way up that way.

Some of the photos Barry posted above were mine (not very good ones) but they are digital. I think they were taken on a 1megapixel Kodak which I bought in 2000.

Yes, I should make it clear these are a collection of everyones posted photos from those events, not mine, altho there are a few of mine in there too. I had a Fuji 1mp camera, thought it was the bees knees. How things have moved on eh.
