Good man. You may as well start looking at 996's now
I predict a Β£15k 996 cab purchase.speedingfine wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2020 7:55 am
He's right you know, some nice cars on AT at the moment. I'd even rather have a 996 cab than a 987 Boxster S![]()

You could buy RevsAscender wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2020 11:03 am Yeah, my first 996 popped-up in the searches last night. But its very very basic spec, high miles, early 996s.
Thanks for the tip on the roof @Broccers.
Amazing how many cars seem to come with only a part service history.
I looked at a seemingly nice 986 S owned by a university professor. He'd used it sparingly but had been similarly sparing in the servicing; basically none in the couple of years he'd owned it. So it was shiny, low miles, but with 2 years' worth of servicing stored up - in fact, every major scheduled expense was due. So I passed on that one. Seems pretty common though.Ascender wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2020 11:03 am Yeah, my first 996 popped-up in the searches last night. But its very very basic spec, high miles, early 996s.

Basic spec = special lightweight edition, and high miles means you can get out and drive it without being precious about itAscender wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2020 11:03 am Yeah, my first 996 popped-up in the searches last night. But its very very basic spec, high miles, early 996s.

Iβve tried and failed to find that thread! Am currently still doing the 986 v 987 flip flop... To the point where I was wondering if a standard 987 2.7 would be sensible.V8Granite wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2020 10:05 amRead Pop Pop Bang Bangs thread on Pistonheads .Sundayjumper wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2020 9:31 amBasic spec = special lightweight edition, and high miles means you can get out and drive it without being precious about itAscender wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2020 11:03 am Yeah, my first 996 popped-up in the searches last night. Then buy a leggy 3.4 996 and play.
Dave!
Thanks Beany! That thread does look vaguely familiar now....Beany wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2020 11:07 am I'd guess this is the thread, given it starts off with a picture of a 996 odo with 300k on it
