It feels much more like a convertible than a sunroof, it has bad scuttle shake, but apparently this can be improved with a strut brace and some weld-in subframe connectors.

It’s on there. I even have a welder now to go with my Level 1 Welding certificate from last year

You're an engineer, aren't you? That load path left to right you mention, where's the bracing...? You can't just replace a roof skin with a stick and expect it to do much

You're an engineer, aren't you? That load path left to right you mention, where's the bracing...? You can't just replace a roof skin with a stick and expect it to do much

The B pillar is there for the left to right bracing, I think the stick you’re referring to is the front to back connection between the B pillar roof section and the top of the windscreen. Depending on how thick it is it’ll provide some level of rigidity and that’s the question, it looks like it still has load paths through it in the areas where a convertible doesn’t have them but does it actually function or does the car still have scuttle shake just like a convertible?

I think arguing about whether cutting the roof off a muscle car based on a 60’s platform affects the handling might be a bit pointless
