I had my booster this morning. My arm is already starting to feel a bit sore, which is annoying. Hopefully no headache like after the first 2, but I guess I'll find out later as they normally took a while to happen last time.

I had to queue outside for about 10 mins to get inside but was maybe only in the centre about 5 minutes before I was jabbed and sent on my way. Much quicker then the first 2 and didn't have to wait outside, just got told not to drive for 10 mins just to make sure no reactions.

Well remembered. I'll have that and that only. :)
so where does the "fooled" bit fit into that?
I think I might start taking my gout tablets once a year rather than every day. I've clearly been fooled for the last decade into thinking I need them every day but I'm sure I don't because flu jabs.
Up to you if you want to get gout or flu mate. Flu jab in winter, gout tab when eating rich red meat, port or cheese.

The problem with that is, apparently they're told what to model by the Gov't, and that is the absolute worst case scenario.

I'll probably have my 3rd jab, when I can, but beyond that I'm not sure. It all depends on how severe it is. As it stands I'm still in the camp of thinking this is heading towards just being another cold-like virus. So what's the point of being jabbed over and over if that's how it pans out?

Mito - Are you CEV? 3rd primary jabs were given to the CEV. And then you'll still get a booster after that.
Didn’t realise we’re doing 4th jabs here, just read last night that Israel were starting that.
I’m not CEV under the government guidelines which have been repeatedly published but I am treated as CEV according to my hospital 🤷‍♂️

At the moment it's only 4th jabs for those that are CEV. So you'd get 3 primary jabs and then a booster.

I think gout is just a conspiracy by Big Chicken to keep you away from red meat.

I'm not going to let you off such a humdinger of a stats salad after the whole "the Tories are definitely honest as the day is long unless you have a signed confession to the contrary" incident 🤣
I just wanted figures that included the relevant variant. I have no interest in defending a gov that I didn't vote for.
Just in case this helps either of yours cases:

There's a ton of interesting graphs on the PH CV19 Data Analysis thread, which I'm sure all tell teh correct story based on whatever side of whatever fence you sit on.

they're up to November - so won't be omnicon - pretty dramatic differences for the earlier variants though.

Isolation dropped to 7 days as long as you have negative lateral flow tests on days 6 and 7

Yeah. Although early soundings that the first UK report on Omicron will be that it's milder. Will be interesting to see the effect on admissions though. And not the hopeless admissions figures that the press bandy about

Chinese city locks down 13 million residents to fight Covid outbreak
Over 13 million people have been ordered to stay home in the Chinese city of Xi'an. A strict lockdown has been imposed and restrictions on travel have been dramatically tightened following a surging Covid-19 outbreak.

With Beijing preparing to host the 2022 Winter Olympics in February, China is on high alert as it fights local outbreaks in several cities.

The new restrictions were imposed after Xi'an reported 52 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, bringing the total to 143 since December 9.

From midnight on Thursday, all households may only "send one household member outside once every two days to purchase necessities," with all others ordered to remain indoors except for emergencies, the city government said in a statement on its official Weibo social media account.

Residents "should not leave the city unless necessary," the government said, adding that those seeking to leave would have to provide evidence of "special circumstances" and apply for approval.

Could be worse - how many cases not deaths do we have

And be double jabbed according to something else I saw. When I posted I put it exactly as I’d just seen it on bbc news.

The BBC wrote: The new guidance applies to everyone, regardless of vaccination status.
It also applies to anyone currently in isolation, so people who tested positive or first showed symptoms on Friday last week could end their isolation in time for Christmas Day if they meet the conditions.
But people should not end their isolation early if they are still experiencing symptoms, officials said.
And anyone ending isolation on day seven is strongly advised to limit contact with vulnerable people, not visit crowded or poorly ventilated spaces, and work from home in line with current guidance.
People who are not double-jabbed and come in close contact with a positive case must still isolate for a full 10 days.

We've been testing this LFT thing. So the missus who first tested pos on LFT 11 days ago on the 11th now has zero second line. She has been symptom-free for a couple of days. I'm 7 days from first pos on LFT and now have the faintest pink line from having very obvious bright red ones at the weekend. Hoping that disappears entirely before Saturday so I know for sure I'm not going to kill the 'rents, even though I know transmissibility should be long gone. It does kind of fly in the face of this long-held advice not to bother continuing to test once you know you have it. But, as Rich has said, this constant disinformation and misinformation that has been de rigueur really doesn't help anyone, let alone the tin foil hat brigade.

I suspect, like many others, we haven't done PCR testing as the kids both testing positive on that was enough evidence. The test & trace for them was a massive ballache. Well, one of them was OK, the other could not speak or type in English and took 90 minutes to get rid of. It does mean that the daily figure is likely to undershoot by, what, 1.5x, 2x?

Reading through the different strategies to deal with this here.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/ ... 13-million

You would think by now there would be worldwide advice of whats safe and not. Swimming in Wales is not it seems. Malta will ban all events where attendees are standing rather than seated. Blah blah.

Theyve called off some football in england on Boxing day but not other matches. My team has 30k plus attending so not a small gathering. Getting in tho looks like a right ball ache.

Huge numbers worldwide now with c19 but not huge deaths which is very encouraging. :D

T&T was a nuisance when we were all ill in Sept. My number and email address was used for the 4 of us so although we were all quite poorly i was getting numerous calls/texts/emails per day and after i lost my rag with them on the phone they reported us as non-compliant and sent 2 covid bouncers to the house !

I've just been with my daughter on the Santa Special at Grosmont with N.York steam railway and we were about the only ones in masks in our carriage. Zero fucks given by most of the parents and grandparents on the trip. Selfish wankers!

To be fair the staff should have been making them. They're compulsory on public transport which that is. I'm other news I started feeling lethargic at work yesterday, no biggie I thought, I'm leaving early to get my booster. We'll that idea had to be abandoned as I started to feel shit fast. Just managed to get home and go straight to bed. Positive test a couple of hours later yet I'm showing none of the normal symptoms and all the ones my partners son had a couple of days ago and he was negative.
