Having said that, I haven't needed to use the blower to clear the windscreen since I chucked it in there.

Funnily enough I bought this one the other day for the Fabia.


It was warmer the last couple of nights, but no condensation inside.

Plenty on eBay for less than £7, but (almost?) all located in China.

You can buy normal silica gel bags, but once you heat them a few times to “renew”, they tend to split and go all over the place, causing you to panic and grab your dogs so they don’t eat them before you can go and get the hoover.

I think mine cost £15 on Amazon Prime but it was a 2 pack and they’re quite heavy, maybe 500g each.
Other bonus which I didn’t realise is that the inside of your windscreen won’t get dirty any more, I never associated it with condensation but I haven’t cleaned the windows from the inside for close to a year now.

I got a couple of them.

I put one in the 996 even though it’s garaged, as the car doesn’t get used much, if at all, in winter.

Thanks for the link, I’ve just picked one up to try in mine as it’ll be sat for a while over winter. I live on a hill so once it gets cold it’s impossible to get the car off the drive and give it a decent run.

I had one in the Puma, gave it to the breaker lad who took it away.

I suggested a few of them to a mate who's rebuilding a caravan as a party van which is moist, but not destroyed, by damp/condensation, and she was well chuffed as she didn't realise you could get the silica gel in sizes that big. So we've done well.

I put one in Kathryn's Clio which was getting loads of condensation inside.

She took it out as she didn't need it any more.

Thought you were gonna say you'd been hit by someone as it looks very dented in the main pic! I guess just heat cycling damage to the paint, or perhaps a previous poor re-paint?

Looking at it now, I’m convinced it’s a previous bad paint job. I think the base coat has had a reaction. It’s completely smooth to the touch but looks terrible.

Definitely looks like it if all the surrounding panels are fine.

I’ve had a problem with the PSM and ABS warning lights coming on after a few miles of driving for the last couple of months. Some internet diagnostics threw up a few possible causes including a failing MAF, failing wheel sensors, dirty reluctor wheels, ECU problems, brake light switch etc. Today a chap in a Jag pointed out that my brake lights are permanently on (although the brake light thing is recent because a mate was following me a few days ago and didn’t mention it), so it looks like that’s been the cause of the issues. New part ordered (cost more for delivery than for the switch itself, £14 total).
