The cheapest, Small Package, gives access to 50 million tweets for $42,000 a month. Higher tiers give researchers or businesses access to larger volumes of tweets—100 million and 200 million tweets respectively—and cost $125,000 and $210,000 a month.

Welcome to Web 3.0, you will get shafted at every opportunity and everything will require a subscription. Mass personal data will be sold on to profit a select few companies and individuals.

I trialled Twitter Blue for a couple of months and it didn't provide enough benefit to warrant keeping it. I only used the edit feature a couple of times (and I don't have a problem with typos anyway). It's like Twitter is still in a transition period and I'm interested to see what the next phase of it will look like later this year/next year.

So latest is that they're scrapping real verification and burying anyone who doesn't sign up for blue.

Major news orgs re paying Twitter a grand a month for a tick: nah, it's fucking worthless. A short thread.
This whole verification thing is such a perfect Musk fuck up that you would think he’s done it deliberately.

Martin Lewis is currently warning about someone impersonating him - there's a Martin Lewis blue tick account promoting crypto. Even retweets ML's own stuff!
So, as the Chief Clown desperately tries to make a bit of profit after blowing billions on a loss making business (such a genius), Twitter will perhaps become a prime platform for 'blue tick' scams and impersonation. How long until businesses/individuals decide that Twitter is not a reliable site for communicating with users and withdraw from it? Especially considering that personal data is exchanged?

This is all going to end in tears, but I suppose he'll be busy stealing old memes and lashing out at disabled staff...

FTFY
It was making a profit till he loaded it with debt and pushed away all their advertisers.

Oh ok, I thought they were actually loss making.
The MSE team emailed the Twatter press office about the impersonator, and got an auto reply of a shit emoji. Fitting!
They've since done some digging and managed to find an actual Twitter staffer for help. What a mess.
