Re: Randomness
Ooh, that’s nice. The Mulsanne is the full-fat Bentley. Not the cheapo VW Continental. It’s substantially bigger too.
Re: Randomness
But... 100k miles, it's clearly scrap!
Re: Randomness
It’s a shame they didn’t make a coupe/convertible variant of this.
How about not having a sig at all?

The Brooklands is more or less the coupe version.

I said more or less
Re: Randomness
I've never wanted an anvil so much in my life
Re: Randomness
Unfair comparison aside, do you also want a selection of sizes to bounce on it so you can play a tune?
Re: Randomness
Can any metallurgists explain the make-up of the steel that gives the different outcomes??
Re: Randomness
I've always wanted to do that!
Re: Randomness
Interesting to see how much movement bushes in suspension arms permit - camera attached to the underside of a new Defender here. From 3:27 if it doesn't start at the right place:
Now I guess it's obvious from the amount of rubber that this much movement is acceptable but I'm surprised how lacking in control it looks when you see it - not in slow mo or on a mega zoom, just filmed normally.

Re: Randomness
An interesting pov seeing it in motion like that compared to static displays of good and worn bushes. Wrt things like that, I've always liked the idea of active engine mounts for toightening things up (though I don't think I've driven anything with them ).
Re: Randomness
The only thing I know of with active engine mounts would be Porsches - I think that’s standard on the GT3 and optional on other sporty ones including the Boxster. Possibly included with the sports chrono pack. I’d never got too excited about it but I can see why it would be effective.

Re: Randomness
Pretty sure my 7 Series had active engine mounts of some kind.
Re: Randomness
It’s probably the sort of thing many manufacturers have been doing quietly for years but Porsche make more of a fuss about. Like Rolex, a greater proportion of their budget goes on marketing…
Re: Randomness
Twingo engine mounts are virtually a consumable, need changing as often as brake pads
