My LLOY shares are about 7% up compared to what I bought at, but I’ve only got just over £1000 of those anyway.

Most of my investments (through a SIPP) are in equity tracker funds, which overall are down about 7% since I switched to self-invested this year; they’d gone down a bit before switching but I can’t get to the figures easily now without looking at physical paperwork.

Bit of a scare the other day when my emerging markets fund appeared to have gone to zero. That’s about a sixth of the total. Glitch in the system, it was ok. That fund has been no more volatile than the lower risk trackers, ridiculously.

No crypto, obvs.

We've read about share losses so what have been your wins?

I think I've posted this before but I bought Pendragon at 1.9p and sold at just under 40p. At the time of buying they were looking increasingly like they were going under (in my non expert opinion) so I took a small gamble fully expecting to lose. Unfortunately I haven't been so lucky with any other shares.

I went through the LSE list and looked at companies I thought would do well in the next few years.

I doubled my money on Bacanora who opened a new lithium mine in Mexico, doubled my money but had to sell when the Chinese bought them out.

Currently a small amount in TM1, they are a battery recycling company based in the U.K., I broke even on these but think they are a sound bet if they can do half of what they say.

Everything is a gamble.

Your ftse tracker probably a terrible investment.

ETH up 20 percent in a short period. Depends when you buy.

I have some BP. Up From 3 quid.

The last 12 months has been a real odd one, pretty much every asset class has lost value including traditionally viewed as non or even inversely correlated stuff.

The average mixed asset fund lost 11.5% over the last 12 months regardless of equity/bond split your likely to have lost money.

If you're up on anything it's luck more than judgement.

Most people are in denial that their pensions dropped huge amounts - I mentioned it ages ago before it happened - but then we have RichB who is keen on everyone else's investments but doesnt ever give any info on his.

Since pensions are easy to get a valuation for and highly regulated, I don’t think anyone will be in denial. It’s impossible to be unaware of the general fall in value.

Denial seems to be more of a crypto investor trait. Funny that.

I was at Pendragon at the time and bought a few, but didn’t have enough spare cash for a decent gamble.
What saved them was that the £360m that they owned RBS wasn’t properly secured, so the bank needed them to keep trading. Having the CFO spend a day in my office trying to micro-manage me just after the price had plummeted wasn’t my most enjoyable day at work!
The fiddling of assets just before and during that time was interesting -
Every 60 days I would meet with my 12 counterparts running the other Jaguar dealerships and trade our overage stock (the crap or overpriced cars) to each other. We would have to trade them at what they owed us, which was always too much money, so they would go to another dealership for 60 days, not sell, then move again. This was happening across all 300 dealerships. Once the share price went up to about 20p they finally allowed us to start auctioning this crap off, but then we had to take the loss on our performance targets!

Interesting! I had some a while back av 16p and got out at 19 when they dipped only for them to go to 27 after takeover talks. Ah well another fail

I really think RR are worth a long time buy @V8Granite get some more

Does anyone know anyone, like a mate or something, who's made any real money off Crypto. Like real money in a high street bank somewhere. "I invested £1000 and got out and made X thousand profit."

I know people who hold various amounts - all fairly small but I've never met anyone who's made any real substantial cash out of it...
