Apparently Brentwood. I went karting for the first time at Karting Oxford (no longer running) and it had been pissing down and there were parts of the track which looked like that. Hilarious for a first go; I just tried to slide everywhere.

I've only ever done 1 outdoor kart race - a 4hr team endurance event with twin-engined karts...erm... somewhere around North England. It was some time ago.
Warm-up & quali were dry - by the end of that my neck and ribs were aching a bit from the lateral-G's. I was thinking "shit - I'm never going to last an hour doing this" when the heavens opened. Not allowed to change tyres so everyone hobbled round on slicks. Which dropped the g-forces (phew), and made it great fun balancing looooong slides (yay), but all the locals knew the wet lines. Which were definitely not the dry lines. Learning curve for each driver lost us loooooads of time. (booo).

I don't think it's the lateral Gs that knacker your ribs, it's the unpadded ill-fitting seats stabbing you in the midriff

@Zonda_ Have just checked - it was Warden Law - which also seems to be known as Karting North East in Sunderland.

Only around 5 minutes drive or about 20 minutes walk for me.
I've only been on once, I think for my 12th birthday. My brother lost his shoe mid race and decided to stop and get out to collect it while other karts were still going

We need a Top Tips thread.
Here, Matt has taken a break from ripping the piss out of Del's Garage to bring us a top tip! Titled as (motorbike) fairing repair, but obviously applicable to other scenarios too.

That looks more like the Gary Handa simulator based on some of the overtakes I remember seeing in very old videos
