I don't know what engine it is but my dad recently got stung for a cambelt and waterpump change on his 62 reg / 50k mile old TT tdi, probably a vw thing.

Doesn't let you check the condition of the tensioners etc though, does it?
Although it is a fun sounding trick.

The Elise failed the MOT
the horn gave out while being tested! New one fitted, and otherwise it's a completely clean MOT for the new buyer who picks it up in the week.
Despite selling it, I still love the car, just needs more power and longer gearing for the type of driving I do. I've been looking around at Evora's, but the running costs are significantly higher, to the point where I've actually been considering the Elise 220's too. First world problems indeed.

Agreed. Europas look like a crap kit car take on a Lotus. A derivative VX220 if you will.

I always thought they looked quite smart, and are definitely pretty rare, even in norfolkshire.
Sounds like an ideal choice for someone who wants an Elise that's a bit softer, and a bit more of a tourer than a sprinter.

I think much of that zorst is part of the Komo tec kit but clearly it can sound spectacular.
Do reviewers have a downer on the sound even as standard though? Even stock sounds good to me. Definitely in these days of farty poppy turbo’d silliness (M3/4, Alfa 4C for example)

Komotec 460 kit includes new manifolds, downpipes and sports cat. Retains the oem cat-back exhaust after that though.
And yes - almost every evora/exige v6 mag test will mention the humble origins of the toyota powerplant, and note that they dont sound great. Which has always confused me.
