I imagine there's a bit more to it than that, yes but basically if Trump refutes it and proves it with whatever evidence is required (after all, being an evil cunt doesn't stop you from being a politician ) then it still becomes a moot point as the process just loops around, possibly with less and less support each time till it fails.

From a Republican pov though it would be easier if it was a Dem led impeachment. His supporters can blame the Dems and the GOP can try to heal its support base. If they use the 25th they risk creating even more entrenched division esp within the GOP.

Impeachment sounds an eminently more sensible approach given the risks on all sides
