Pence reportedly considers it inappropriate to use -he might genuinely be thinking that Trump can just go 'no, I'm mentally fit' at which point, the process becomes moot.
It's being reported that one of the deaths yesterday was a cop who was beaten to death by MAGAs with a fire extinguisher.

Really ? And if he says “I’ve done nothing wrong” everyone goes “oh, fair enough, carry on” ??
Telling people you’re not mad is not proof that you’re not mad

I imagine there's a bit more to it than that, yes

but basically if Trump refutes it and proves it with whatever evidence is required (after all, being an evil cunt doesn't stop you from being a politician

) then it still becomes a moot point as the process just loops around, possibly with less and less support each time till it fails.
Or it could just be that Pence is a fucking pussy.

Given the timescales, it looks like it just needs VP & Cabinet make the declaration and then there's not enough time for trump to get back in anyway.
Needs done.

Of course, that might be just what he needs as although it's dodgy whether the President can pardon himself, if he's no longer President then the Acting President has the power to pardon him....

From a Republican pov though it would be easier if it was a Dem led impeachment. His supporters can blame the Dems and the GOP can try to heal its support base. If they use the 25th they risk creating even more entrenched division esp within the GOP.
Impeachment sounds an eminently more sensible approach given the risks on all sides

What would he be pardoned for though?
He's continually claimed he's (never, ever) done anything wrong.
So why does he need a pardon at all?
Isn't this a catch-22: that he has to either have done something wrong (to need a pardon) or never done anything wrong (so doesn't need a pardon)?

I see Scott Adams is still gaslighting away.
...
His pathetic little fans are lapping it up, because they are also fucking mongs.
Dafuuuuk, he must be able to afford some high quality "medication" to tie his brain in enough knots for that to make sense.
I'm looking forward to the president's detail having to gag him to stop him spilling state secrets to all and sundry post the 20th.

I still say that if someone hasn't assasinated the fat orange cunt within the next two weeks, they might as well remove the 2nd Amendment, because all it does is massively increase the suicide rate in the US - it's clearly useless against a tyrannical power seeking to overthrow government.

Interesting wee bit on 538 about the difference in escalation of response (or lack thereof) between BLM or generally left leaning protests, and Qanon, antimask, Trump protesters.

They need to stop with the constant comparisons, it's not going to resolve anything and just opens up more and more arguments.
Stick to the facts for this crime.

I mean, when you remember there are tales of MAGAs taking a shit and smearing it on the walls in there, I genuinely have no reason to disbelieve this.

Ah, it's OK, they're taking it seriously.
Oh, wait:
It's almost like firing squads might actually be a useful thing here. Not necessarily with Justice Dept backing. Just a concrete wall, some wooden posts, and some shallow graves.

And to the guy with the 'camp Auschwitz' t-shirt.

Oh, and if you were in any unclear of how the local security forces utterly fucked up, watch them back away and let protestors attempt to gain entry, before those on the other side opened fire.
A complete failure in every respect of the DC police. Every respect.
They should have started caving faces in at the 15 sec moment. Not stepping aside (at 1:30), and letting them smash the glass in, so that security on the other side, where elected representatives were felt it necessary to shoot through the glass at them, leaving someone shot in the throat who ultimately died - even if she was a retarded cunt. And no, I won't edit that. She was. Fuck that retarded cunt.
US police - utterly, entirely racist. If these 'protestors' were black, they'd have been lit up when they tried to climb the stairs, period.
If someone black had started punching that glass at 15 secs in, and the rest of the group were less than the palest of the pale, that entire group would have been utterly massacred. If you don't believe that, then perhaps re-assess how clever you think you are.
And if you're defending it...hey, perhaps just go slit your own wrists - you're a waste of good haemoglobin.
