I can’t argue with that, a few years ago we did Pickering to Whitby on the steam train and it was some incredible scenery!

We do the Norfolk coast quite a bit, there is a railway with a decent run which in nice weather is lovely. End of the line grab some lunch and head back. Not a day out as such but a lovely addition to the day.

Well we've managed to bag 7nights s/c in Suffolk - I remembered a small rental company last night that we rented from a few years ago for a mate's wedding. Wish I'd bloody remembered sooner! THey had 1 place left and it's bang in the centre of the village with some decent local pubs etc. That'll do.

In terms of up north, great that the scenery is in the Dales, for me the Trough of Bowland and, separately, the North Pennines AONB are more stunning. They're also quieter.

It’ll have been one of these guys trains, they still run between Pickering and grosmont but not quite into whitby

Upgrade complete, lots of signs around the Norwich vacc centre that walk-ins were available for both AZ and Pfz.

Feel fine apart from dangerous levels of CBF logging back into work.

I thought most of the walk ins were only for first jabs. I’m still waiting for my second on 5th aug, be nice to pull it forward a little.

Had my second jab yesterday, brought forward by over three weeks.

I reckon you'll be contacted soon to have it earlier. All my mates who are the same age as me (41) were contacted to have the second dose earlier.

Both my colleagues had their sencond jabs at new walk-in centres (separate ones). Get my 2nd one this Sat morning, having rearranged a couple of weeks ago

I got my 2nd at a walk in center as well.

Booked my wife's (32) second using the NHS website.

Interestingly, looking at the card she was given when she had her first jab towards the end of May, it says her second was due just 8 weeks later, despite her being under 40.

So as the numbers of infections rise, so do your chances of coming into contact with one. Either people are going to end up isolating left right and centre for the next month from contact tracing or people are going to ignore it in droves. Going to make life very hard for pubs and restaurants when they can’t field a full team owing to staff isolating from a single contact in their restaurant.

My little boy got sent home from preschool on Tuesday with temperature and coughing, we got him tested Wednesday morning (which was a nightmare with an ill 3 year old!)
He was pretty much better by yesterday morning (as kids are when they get ill) but then we had to wait for the results...

...They came through negative this morning thankfully, but it's been a hard few days - I had 2 big deadlines and the wife had to work too, so I've been working until midinight to get ahead for the next day so I can look after him. Parenting and working definitely has its challenges!

Happily, Sam's back at preschool today and we get a day to catch up on work so we can actually enjoy the weekend!

It seems much milder if he does catch it, which is good news!

There are quite a few other bugs about at the minute, my mum has had symptoms, but tested negative as well.

My little boy is 4, he had a cough for 2 days and that was it, my wife is still properly ill with it now, and it's a week since she started with symptoms.

Isolating for 10 days is the hardest bit so far, when trying to work full time and looking after then both (from a distance )

Should be able to all play out from next Wednesday, which is good as we're off to the caravan on Thursday!

Just been informed my son's year must now isolate.

We've booked in proper tests for tomorrow for the 3 of us, just in case - we've done the quick home tests and all negative.

I don't think you are. Don't fuel the false positives.

We were told to go for proper tests by contact tracing after been in contact with someone with it, even if we hadn't got symptoms.
