Sound waves compress and expand as a vehicle passes you, hence why emergency services sound different coming towards and moving away from you.

If you apply the same theory to light and you get ultra violet at a compressed wavelength and infra red at an expanded wavelength

By sheer coincidence I was watching a Youtube video last night in which someone made a simulation and slowed down the speed of light so the doppler effect would be visible. Bit of a mindfvck!
How about not having a sig at all?
