Imagine if there was a UCI unlimited category where groundbreaking ideas could be pitted against each other or someone just made an "old Faithful" in its original tucked arms position but with modern lightweight materials and had someone with modern training and nutrition riding it to compare against his old record.... That for sure would be an hour of great suspense and drama.
I'd bet after that investigation Hope/Cannondale/Orbea/Pinarello/Canyon/Trek etc. are going![]()

It's almost got a RedBull-event feel to it, for example organising a track event outside of the UCI where anything goes. I could imagine there are enough Obree-style mechanics and riders out there to make it work.
