Watched the first 10 episodes in one hit and think it's absolutely brilliant TV - the sort of show that makes you think English TV has still got it! Somewhat trepidatious about watching the season finale now - can't be doing with too many of them feels!
The one-on-one with her dad (who felt a touch under-used up until this point) makes it. Or so you think. Then there is even more :D
This. With bells on. Been bingeing all twelve episodes over the last two or three days.

Qyburns death was particularly “GoT surprise” - pretty full on episode.

I was convinced that Jaime was going to die and then surface again as Arya with his face on. I suppose there’s still a chance of that with Euron?

Anyone watching Chris Lilley's Lunatics? I'm five episodes in but don't think I'm enjoying it as much as his previous stuff. Most of the characters are too contrived.

I watched the first one, it wasn’t grabbing me though (same reason). It’s a really fine line between a believable funny character and just a silly impression.

Angry Boys was his peak for me.

!!!!!GoT SPOILERS!!!!!

This episode felt a bit off to me

Dragons, which had become vulnerable since S7, suddenly having turned on Invincibility and Infinite Ammo cheats

Another biggest baddy, Cersei, dies without much faff, similar to the Night King

Daenerys has gone very mad very quickly, which feels a bit rushed to me

The northern Soldiers suddenly seem to have lost any morals they may have had

I do hope she goes off the Rails completely - like all the worst of Hitler, Pol Pot and Jeremy Corbyn, all rolled into one.

will make things interesting for the 3500 or so children now called Daenerys since Series 1 first aired...

Someone in my region (or shops) at work named their kid Khaleesi!!! What a fucking idiot

1) Not even the characters name
2) The show in season 2 or 3 when he did this. ANYTHING could happen to that character, sure she’s gone a bit mad now, but she could have turned into a serial child rapist, or anything
3) what with it not being a real word, it’s only come from one place

I read a very interesting article about the... literally hundreds of thousands... of German Children having their names changed from Adolf after the war...

Adolf probably seemed like a good idea around 1941... Less so around 1944

GOT turned to crap last season when they announced/realised they were running out of time to wrap everything up and suddenly there was a degree of "time travel" involved with people quickly zipping all over the place and getting stuff done instead of just taking their time and giving characters time to breathe properly.

Having accepted that, I really enjoyed the last episode - it wasn't perfect if you've been invested in the show since the start, but it was entertaining enough.

They've screwed the pooch with the show overall though - just goes to show how difficult it is to maintain that very high level of quality from the start to the end of a show.
Cheers,

Mike.

What I've got from the people complaining about GoT this week is that a lot of people didn't understand who Daenerys is as a character. She's a tyrant not a saviour, she had Jorah, Varys and Missandei to temper her. Now she's just following her nature.

I'm still enjoying this season, even though I think it's a shame they've hacked the characters down to one note caricatures to get them to hit the end of their story arcs.

The Hound had the best moments of that last episode.

Started watching Barry last night. It's a comedy about a hitman who goes to LA and decides he wants to be an actor. Bill Hader writes, directs and stars in it, also has Henry Winkler and D'Arcy Carden (Janet from The Good Place) in it.

Watched the first two episodes and it's pretty funny.
An absolute unit

What I get from people complaining about people complaining about GoT this week is that a lot of people didn't understand who Daenerys is as a character. She's a not tyrant, she's a saviour, she had her father and brother and countless others show her who she doesn't want to be. Now she's just flipped completely contrary to her nature in order to expedite the end of the series.

Pity the crap writing is overshadowing the excellent parts, indeed Hound v Mountain was thoroughly epic and a worthy ending to both characters.

Fleabag - very good. Emotional, eccentric, different and brilliant. Thanks for the recommendation.

Gutted I’ve got to wait another week for the next one.

Soundtrack is recorded in Dolby Atmos as well. Which made it even more horrifying played through my Kef’s.
