As of Monday I'll be at home with all three children as my wife is a key worker. I expect I'll get to work for at best two hours a day (little one asleep, older two watching a film). Thursdays and Fridays, when my wife isn't working, will be rather busy. If they make part time staff work full-time (not an unlikely scenario), I'll be lucky to scrape a day a week.

My sister-in-law (and the whole family) are now self isolating. She's a deputy head and took the kids on a school trip on Monday (in this country), due to return today. She had to bring them back yesterday as 2 kids on the trip developed a cough. She now has a cough and a 'tightening across the chest'.

Groovy.

Also fun trying to persuade my mid-70's parents not to go out and that I'd deliver them some groceries myself.

I realised I had next to no beer in earlier so I nipped up to Morrisons on the other side of town. The place has been cleared out almost, quite surreal actually, a few shoppers wandering about looking bewildered as they try to figure out what they could buy from the remains. I bought some more veg (figured, why not as I was there) the beer and some expensive tuna as all the normal stuff was gone. Picked up a couple of steaks too, as everyone apparently only panic buys cheap food.

Pretty sure I could lock myself in the house for a few weeks if it came to it, as long as water and power stay on, but I'm already crawling the walls at the mere thought of having to do so. I'm not great at taking orders sadly, control freak side of me rears up. I'm still in the angry stage of this whole episode, and yet I'm pretty fortunate that I can WFH and no sign of financial issues on the immediate horizon. If they do lock down I'll be SORN'ing most of the fleet though..

Just walked the dog - there’s a Tesco express right beside my flat - also had many rows of empty shelves but the Krispy Kreme cabinet was full *deep sigh of relief*.
Oddly it was closed at 10pm, usually it closes at 11pm then gets restocked. I don’t think their warehouses even have stock anymore.
Also saw my first tanker spraying disinfectant along the road and footpath.

Been in 4 supermarkets today just to see if I could get a feckin loaf of bread. yeah good one me. All stripped. Wtf is wrong with people? Even the 4yo started going on about loads of stupid people having been in.

There were videos from China of them spraying stuff everywhere, like into trees 20feet high. Wondered what sort of effect that would have when we're told it can only travel 6ft or so in human fluids.

Yep, but I haven't had any problems buying frozen

Asda fuel 14.7p/l unleaded. They had a good supply of 16 tablet packs of paracetamol also. It wasn't too bad in there but a couple of people seemed intent on clearing the shelves of the items they wanted...at 4 in the morning. They were dealt with at the checkout where they were limiting purchase quantities (something I think should have been done a at least a month ago).
