I have a yearly flu jab - the first had less effect than that. The second really did noticeably make me shattered, no other issues like blood clots to the brain etc :

Certainly is my friend. You ban it on the basis you don't like it - that is censorship. There's no gating requirement that it needs to have inherent worth.

Part of the problem with your (and to be fair, many on the left's) whole world outlook. You don't get to be the arbiter of what someone else can or cannot say unless it is legally proscribed. Your decision on what is or is not 'shite' is yours and yours alone and it has no bearing on whether or not someone should be able to say it.

If he's getting banned for that, I'm assuming that Frankie Boyle and a whole host of other comedians that rely on shock and awe are long gone?!

I mean it's about as mild as humour gets beyond a "Why did the chicken cross the road" joke.

I don't care what people say, you have to accept there are consquences to speech though. What most people who complain about being censored mean is that they said something stupid and had to deal with consequences.

This isn't his employer firing him for bringing them into disrepute though, etc. That's a whole different question - we're talking narrowly about censorship on twitter, not cancel culture.

He's a comedian that published a joke (his job) on their website and they banned it because... why? Because they thought it was perhaps mean against someone they subjectively consider to be vulnerable and with whom they likely politically agree and dislike the damage the satire does to that political cause. Censoring on that basis is bullshit.

It probably did get driven by the number of complaints. It's a silly ban, but that's social media, and it doesn't really matter at the end of the day. It probably did no harm to him in terms of an attempt to get publicity.

Well as per the definition I pasted, censorship is still censorship if mandated by law. However, as to whether they were right/not being partisan to remove it, that very much depends what you said, but given what you post on here and how you post it, I'd expect it wasn't necessary to remove it.

Obviously there are concerns re comments of a religious nature and UK 'hate crime' laws but they should, if enforced correctly, be only where you were directing something at an individual with those protected characteristics and the post amounted to harassment or abuse. None of which I presume were the case.
