If I wanted an interior that looked like the aftermath of a mass knife fight in an abattoir, I'd be all over that.

Loving that cloth!

Love the cloth - shame the car is so basic. I’ve never seen that awful manual HVAC control panel in an E46. The steering wheel is horrid too.

Yeah, very basic indeed! I know they sold quite a few 318 es models which were very basic, manual heater, no cruise control etc.
Unusual in one of the bigger engines cars where standard equipment tends to grow as you move up the chain.
I think they’re proper manual controls too so you can’t just switch control panels you’d have to swap the whole heater assembly behind the dash.

How much orange? This much orange.

The beige carpet on the lower doors is hmmmm... not sure if it's better with it

Beige you say...
1989: 959
A small series of seven Porsche 959 vehicles produced for a member of the ruling family of Qatar is still unique to this day. A color concept with stripes was developed for these in collaboration with Porsche designers in Weissach. Custom colors like Sahara Beige, Royal Blue, and Silk Green were combined with correspondingly colored buffalo leather interiors featuring stripes. The exhaust tailpipe plated in 24-karat gold was yet another exquisite customer request. Rather than the traditional Porsche emblem, the new owner’s golden family crest adorns the hood, hub cover, and interior.

24 carat gold exhaust tips are not an "exquisite" request. It is gaudy excess by someone completely out of touch with reality.

The striped seats from that era are just gorgeous. That sandy beige/gold look is stunning.

That's pretty special isn't it? I need to have a look and find the others and some decent pictures, I only found out about this in the same article as the orange turbo.

Was it only the 959s that had the three different colour stripes on the seats, or did other 911 variants get it? My wallet is from Coach and is made of three stripes of leather in shades of blue and black. I love it because it reminds me of that style.

That looks like a great photo/photographer, every other photo makes it look horrific!

Oo-er... this thread is about Jobbo interiors, not exteriors, though

964 RS had triple seats either grey, pink or blue but a simpler design than those 959 seats.

Fixed back seat option was different again.

Excellent work, Carl - I'd sort of assumed they weren't just 959 but never really thought about it until today. Those two examples are absolutely lovely.

What's going on with the exhaust on that car? Looks like there are red plugs in them.
