The last couple of days have reminded me that people do like to have a moan

.
I thought it was incredible, not my favourite episode evar!!11!!!11 but definitely up there.
I thought it was tremendous. And yes, as discussed the plot may not be perfect but what an incredible 1hr20 of TV.
And yes, it was too dark. My TV struggled at times TBH. Can't wait to see what's coming up as we head to the finalé.
I had heard that so turned the lights right down.

I probably agree with all of that, it was still great!
This. Loved it.
I'm delighted the white walker stuff is over (if indeed it is), it's been a great part of the story, but the battle for the throne is more interesting so I would have hated that turning into a side story. Can't wait for Cersei to be back to her evil best.

Last week was a shift from a political drama to an action show. I'm hoping it reverts too.
I guess that there's not that big an army left in Winterfell so the Golden Company could just waltz up and slaughter them all. That would only take one episode so I guess that's not going to happen.

I’m definitely more of a fan of the plot/character heavy episodes over the battle scenes, I guess they kept most of the main characters alive so they could do some more of that before the end.

Really enjoying this GoT season and think EP3 was perfect timing having just come out the simulator, so nice bottle of wine, new oled TV on and relaxxxxx... I do hope the end of this season is not just another big battle, then little girl runs in and kills Cersei!

Not sure the Golden sheep shaggers guild can stop her if the dead couldn’t though!

Gob well and truly smacked by the latest episode of
GoT The Battle of Winterfell was incredible, no idea how they'll top it in the last three episodes to finish the saga.
I thought it was average, a 7/10 tops, and thats generous. Spoiler alert, but there were so many poor writing choices - not to mention the appalling lighting. Yes, it was for "atmosphere" but throw in dark scenes, loads of camera shake and quick cuts and it stops being atmospheric and just becomes unwatchable.
Not to mention:
1. The Dothraki charging off into the darkness. I believe it was mentioned in the post-episode discussion that they were overly cocky and ran off to their deaths and couldn't wait - but for the love of god write that in, because as it stood it just looked like shitty orders
2. Talking of shitty orders, who the fuck planned that defence? Wasted cavalry, pointless ununsed trebuchets, dragons barely used until it was too late. At least the older battles had some semblance of basic tactics.
3. Have I mentioned how dark it was?
4. Killing the giant. "Hey, let me pick you up and look at you up close with my good eye.....*poke* Argh! My good eye!"
5. Guys, let me just do this OTT heroic act before dying. Jorah gets a pass because he's the fucking don.
6. Plot armour. Jesus fucking christ, let some people die. I don't care how good you are, you're not getting a 500-pile-on-Whitewalker wave and living. Jamie only has one hand, FFS. Neither Jamie, nor Brienne or Sam Tarly should have lived past about 30 minutes, but hey, plot armour.
7. Ayra. Unable to get past 4 shamblers in the library, then gets past 500 walkers and various generals because convenience.
8. 8 seasons. Winters Coming, quick stab, and poof - it's all over. Massive anticlimax.
9. Ironside Bran. I hope they've got something magic planned because right now, he's just rolling exposition.
So yeah, that's what's wrong
They're still at it
Those big crossbows on the front of the ships were only on front, not rear. They can't cover the rear because of the masts. Shirley a dragon can swing round and roast the ships from the rear...
FFS.

Yeah I'm not defending the indefensible

Episode 4 was really disappointing for a whole bunch of reasons. I'm thinking I'd actually have preferred they went back to 50min running time to give some breathing space to the plot developments.
I'm starting to come round to the conspiracy theory that GRRM is letting the TV show plot run out of control so everyone will want the books for the "real" ending.
Hoping for significantly better pacing/logic/dialogue/plot next week...

I think what they're trying to do with Deanerys is show how woefully equipped she is to actually be a queen but it's all been so rushed this season. I'm 100% sure that Jon Snow is going to be killed in some dumb way, should've gone north with the free folk.
Feels like GRRM and the show runners have already moved on to putting all their focus on the spin offs and are just trying to wrap this up asap.

i think the big finale will be Jon killing Dany ( or the the other way round!). Probably in a similar way to Jaime killing the mad king.

It's a bit odd because none of the actors speak with a Russian accent, it's all regional UK, but it's pretty awful to see how badly it was handled.

Undercover on Netflix is pretty good, I’m four episodes in.
Dutch/Belgian ecstasy dealers and undercover (obvs) cops. Subtitled, if that puts anyone off.

It's been excellent, although I got the sense in the first ep that the big name actors (Harris, Skarsgard, etc) were just warming up. Always been glued to Chernobyl stuff and read Serhii Plokhy's superb book last year in about 24 hours straight.
On the disaster theme (although not as huge), Netflix's Fyre Festival documentary is good fun. As is the podcast about the whole Theranos debacle (The Dropout).

I assume after Death of Stalin people realised no-one would take US/British actors doing cod Vladivostok accents seriously.
Chernobyl is all classic swiss cheese failure stuff like you see in aviation disaster investigation. Management not listening to frontline staff x lessons not learned from previous near misses x day shift handed the fateful test over to understaffed night shift. All in the Soviet Union where to question the design of the reactor is to question the State itself.

That Fyre Festival doc is both riveting and infuriating in equal measure. Shows just what vacuous turds a lot of 'influencers' are.

How astoundingly gullible a lot people are too, really interesting to watch how seemingly easy it is with the right connections and attitude to borrow huge amounts of wealth. At least temporarily.
Thoroughly enjoying
Ghosts although slightly confusing to watch it back to back with Dead Pixels as the same actress is in both playing characters called Alison.
